The Pietra Grey Marble Dado Moulding is a honed natural marble trim measuring 305 × 40 × 15mm, designed to create a pronounced border, transition or endpoint within a tiled wall. Its shaped profile adds more depth than a slim pencil liner, helping to complete the top of a partially tiled surface, separate different tile formats or frame a decorative area with a clear architectural detail.
It works particularly well above half-height bathroom or cloakroom tiling, along kitchen splashbacks and around niches, mosaic panels or other feature sections. The deep grey ground and fine white veining give the moulding a strong but controlled appearance, while the honed finish keeps the surface soft and low sheen. Choose this exact product where a plain cut edge would feel unresolved and the design calls for a darker marble detail with visible profile and definition.
For the closest material relationship, pair the moulding with the Pietra Grey Marble Tile Collection, which uses the same grey marble palette and honed finish across the principal tiled surface. The Pietra Grey Geo Marble Mosaic can add a smaller-scale geometric feature while retaining the same underlying stone character, and the Pietra Grey Celeste Marble Herringbone Mosaic offers a more patterned companion for niches or splashbacks. For a higher-contrast scheme, the Calacatta White and Pietra Grey Octagon Mosaic combines the dark grey stone with a lighter marble field.
As Pietra Grey is a natural marble, variation in colour, veining, tone and pattern should be expected. Review and dry lay the moulding with the selected tiles or mosaics before fixing so that the natural movement can be arranged thoughtfully. Sealing is required, and ongoing maintenance should use suitable pH-neutral, stone-safe products. Final cutting, positioning and installation should be confirmed with a professional installer experienced in natural stone.
Yes! All our marble tiles and mosaics are suitable with underfloor heating.
Yes, we highly recommend dry laying your marble tiles before fixing them in place. Marble is a natural stone, and each tile is unique in its veining, tone, and pattern. Unlike man-made tiles, marble pieces are not identical, which is part of their beauty.
Dry laying means arranging all the tiles on the floor before applying adhesive, so you can:
Skipping this step can lead to an uneven appearance, as tiles placed at random may clash in tone or pattern. Taking the time to dry lay ensures a more harmonious and professional finish.
Yes. All natural stone products, including marble, limestone, and onyx, require sealing to maintain their appearance and durability.
We recommend sealing the tiles after installation, once the adhesive is fully dry. This protects the marble from grout staining. After grouting, allow the grout to cure, then clean the tiles thoroughly and apply a final coat of stone sealer to protect both the tile and grout.
To keep your surfaces in top condition, reseal every 1–3 years, depending on usage and wear.
