Starel Slab Gallery Southampton

View full-scale marble, quartz, onyx and travertine slabs for kitchen islands, worktops, vanity tops, splashbacks and bespoke stone interiors.

A 40,000sqft slab showroom dedicated to the finest stone.

The Starel Slab Gallery is a dedicated natural stone showroom and warehouse in Southampton, created for customers who want to experience marble, quartz, onyx and travertine at full scale before making a final material choice.

From kitchen islands and worktops to vanity tops, splashbacks, feature walls and bespoke stone pieces, the gallery gives homeowners, interior designers, architects and trade professionals the opportunity to view slabs in person, compare materials properly and plan with greater confidence.

A slab is not the same as a sample. Natural stone carries movement, veining, colour variation and surface depth that can only be properly understood when viewed across the full piece.

Natural stone should be seen at full scale before it is selected.

At the Starel Slab Gallery, visitors can walk through a curated selection of marble, quartz, onyx and travertine slabs, seeing the natural face of each material before it is fabricated or supplied. This makes the selection process more considered, especially for projects where the stone will become a central design feature.

For kitchen islands, vanity tops, splashbacks, bath surrounds, shower walls and feature panels, scale matters. A vein that looks subtle in a small image can become dramatic across a full slab. A soft tone can shift depending on the light. A surface that feels right online may need to be compared against other stones before the final decision is made.

The gallery is designed to make that process clearer.

A curated slab gallery for marble, quartz, onyx and travertine.

The Southampton Slab Gallery houses a wide selection of premium slab materials, including natural marble, travertine, onyx and engineered quartz surfaces.

Marble remains central to the Starel collection, with expressive veining, classic whites, warm neutrals, darker stones and statement materials selected for bathrooms, kitchens and interior features. Travertine offers a softer architectural look with warmth, texture and linear movement. Onyx is chosen for colour, translucency and statement-led interiors. Quartz provides a more consistent and practical surface option for high-use areas such as kitchens, utility rooms and commercial spaces.

The gallery also includes selected Starel stones, exclusive materials and large-format slab-style surfaces for projects that require scale, impact and careful specification.

Whether you are choosing a single vanity top or selecting stone for a full interior scheme, the gallery allows you to compare materials side by side and understand which surface is right for the project.

Our customer feedback

The right slab depends on the project, not just the colour.

Choosing a slab is about more than finding a beautiful material. The right stone needs to suit the space, the intended use and the way the surface will be fabricated.

A kitchen island may need a durable surface, clear slab dimensions, carefully planned joins, sink or hob cut-outs and a suitable edge profile. A vanity top may need basin positioning, tap holes, splashback planning and a finish that works in a bathroom environment. A feature wall or splashback may depend heavily on vein direction, bookmatching, slab face and visual flow.

At the gallery, the Starel team can help you think through these details before the material is reserved. This includes discussing the project type, measurements, preferred finish, application, fabrication requirements and whether the stone is suitable for the way it will be used.

The aim is not only to choose a slab that looks beautiful. It is to choose a slab that works properly within the finished space.

From slab selection to Starel Atelier fabrication.

The Starel Slab Gallery supports both slab supply and project-led stone fabrication through Starel Atelier.

For suitable projects, selected slabs can be fabricated into kitchen islands, worktops, vanity tops, splashbacks, bath surrounds, shower walls, feature panels, fireplace details and bespoke stone pieces. The fabrication process may include cutting, polishing, edge profiling, cut-outs, mitred details, upstands, splashbacks and other project-specific requirements.

Before fabrication begins, the material, measurements and specifications need to be confirmed. This may include drawings, templates, sink or basin details, tap positions, appliance cut-outs, edge preferences and delivery requirements.

For customers working with their own fabricator, Starel can also support slab supply and delivery where suitable. The slab can be selected at the gallery, reserved, and then supplied for professional fabrication.

A showroom for homeowners, designers and trade professionals.

The Starel Slab Gallery is designed for different types of projects and customers.

Homeowners can visit to understand the difference between materials, compare slabs in person and make more confident choices for kitchens, bathrooms and bespoke interiors.

Interior designers and architects can use the gallery to select materials for client schemes, review colour, scale and movement, and plan surfaces around the wider design direction.

Fabricators, installers and trade professionals can view live slab stock, discuss suitability, confirm availability and plan supply for active projects.

For larger or more detailed schemes, visiting the gallery can help reduce uncertainty. It allows the customer, designer, builder or fabricator to see the same material in context before decisions are made.
