Sofita Polished Marble Slab is a full-scale natural marble surface designed for interiors where warm colour and expressive stone movement should become part of the finished scheme. Each slab is approximately 193 × 280cm, 20mm thick and provides around 5.4m² of material. The polished finish gives greater definition to Sofita’s ivory background and flowing brown-to-red veining, allowing the natural pattern to remain visible across larger fabricated surfaces.
Bundle 41746 currently comprises two slabs, which also makes Sofita particularly interesting for projects where bookmatching or coordinated pieces are being considered.

Where does Sofita marble work best?

Its strongest applications are those that give the marble enough surface area for the veining to remain legible.
A kitchen island, for example, can make use of a broad section of the slab rather than breaking the movement into many small pieces. A vanity top can use a more concentrated area of veining, while a full-height splashback can allow the brown and red movement to continue vertically.
Because there are two slabs within bundle 41746, wall panels or other paired pieces may also be planned around bookmatching where the slabs, dimensions and fabrication layout allow.
Final suitability depends on measurements, cut-outs, edges, support, access and the specific installation.
Why choose Sofita specifically?
The strongest reason is its colour balance.
Sofita sits between pale neutral marble and strongly coloured statement stone. Its ivory background keeps the material relatively easy to integrate, while the brown and red veining introduces warmth that standard grey-veined marble does not provide.
The polished finish also enhances colour, veining and depth, making it particularly useful when the customer wants the marble movement to remain clearly visible. Starel generally positions polished marble for vanity areas, splashbacks, walls and decorative interiors where greater surface definition is wanted.
Most importantly, this is natural stone. Vein direction, colour concentration and movement vary across each slab, so the exact slabs should be considered at full scale before fabrication.
Starel does not offer a cut sample for this product and instead recommends viewing slab material directly, with showroom, imagery or virtual viewing available for slab selection.
Which Starel Stones products complement it?
There is no clearly confirmed Sofita tile collection currently surfaced on Starel, so complementary materials should be selected intentionally rather than described as exact matches.
For a quieter adjoining floor or wall, the White Emperador Marble Tile Collection is a useful direction. Its white-to-ivory character can support Sofita’s lighter background without competing strongly with the red-brown veining.
Where a deeper accent is wanted, Rosso Levanto Marble Tiles provide a much richer red-marble direction. Used selectively, Rosso Levanto can pick up the warmer movement within Sofita while creating deliberate contrast rather than attempting to imitate it.
For softer, earthy interiors, Ivory Limestone Tiles provide another complementary option. Their warm neutral character can allow a Sofita worktop, vanity or fireplace to remain the more expressive stone element.
These materials should be viewed as design complements rather than colour or vein matches.
Slab selection, fabrication and care
Fabrication should be planned around the actual slabs. Starel’s bespoke quote process allows project requirements such as drawings and finished applications to be reviewed before production.
Vein orientation, joints, cut-outs and edge details should all be considered before cutting, particularly if both slabs are being used together.
As natural marble, Sofita should be appropriately sealed for its application and cleaned with pH-neutral, stone-safe products. Acidic or abrasive products should be avoided.

Slabs are specialist products. They are large, heavy and often selected for a specific face, vein movement, colour tone or fabrication requirement. For this reason, slab delivery is handled separately from standard tile and sample orders.
Before dispatch, our team will confirm the delivery address, site access, receiving contact and unloading requirements. Slabs may require specialist vehicles, A-frame transport or suitable unloading equipment depending on the material, slab size, quantity and destination. If your order is being delivered directly to a fabricator, installer or contractor, please provide their full delivery details before the order is released.
We strongly recommend that the receiving party is prepared for the delivery before the slab arrives. The site should have suitable access, enough space for safe unloading and an experienced person available to inspect and receive the material. Slabs should not be booked for fabrication or installation until they have been received, checked and approved.

International slab orders require careful planning. Natural stone slabs must be packed, handled and transported correctly to protect the material during long-distance freight. Depending on the destination and project scope, slabs may be supplied to private clients, interior designers, developers, contractors, fabricators or commercial project teams.
Before confirming an international slab order, our team will review the material, slab dimensions, quantity, destination country, delivery address, freight requirements and receiving arrangements. Where the slabs are being sent to a local fabricator or installation partner, we will need their full business details, contact information and unloading requirements.
International customers should allow for additional lead time, freight coordination, customs clearance and any duties, taxes or local charges that may apply in the destination country. These costs and responsibilities should be confirmed before the order is finalised.
