The Bluette Marble Tile Collection is a honed natural marble range for creating cool, blue-grey walls and floors with distinctive natural veining and tonal variation. Available in five formats from slim 150 × 75mm metro tiles to larger 610 × 305mm rectangles, it lets you change the scale and rhythm of a bathroom, kitchen or wider interior while keeping a consistent stone palette. Pair with matching Bluette pencil liner and marble skirting for resolved edges and wall-to-floor details, or introduce pale marble and Bluestone mosaics where a contrasting patterned surface is preferred. Sealing is required.

The Bluette Marble Tile Collection is a natural marble range for customers who want a cooler, more distinctive stone palette than conventional white, cream or beige marble. Its blue-grey colouring and natural veining give the surface an architectural character while retaining the individual movement associated with real stone. Available in five honed 10mm formats — 150 × 75mm, 200 × 200mm, 305 × 75mm, 305 × 305mm and 610 × 305mm — the collection can move from smaller detailed layouts to broader tiled surfaces without changing material family.

What can you achieve with Bluette marble tiles?

Bluette allows colour to become part of the material scheme without relying on a flat painted surface or manufactured pattern. Each tile contributes its own variation in tone, veining and movement, creating a finished installation that develops naturally across the wall or floor.

The different formats also let you control the visual rhythm. The 150 × 75mm and 305 × 75mm metro tiles create more joints and a stronger linear pattern, making them useful for splashbacks, shower walls, niches and smaller feature sections.

The 200 × 200mm and 305 × 305mm square formats create a more balanced geometric grid, while the larger 610 × 305mm rectangle reduces the number of joints and gives more space for the marble’s natural movement to be appreciated.

Using more than one size can help separate adjoining areas while maintaining a connected material palette.

Where does Bluette work best?

The collection is suitable for interior walls and floors, including bathrooms and kitchens.

In bathrooms, Bluette can be used across floors, shower walls, bath surrounds or feature areas. Its blue-grey palette works particularly well with white sanitaryware, pale neutral finishes, warm oak or walnut and darker metal details.

In kitchens, it can introduce natural colour across floors or selected tiled wall areas and can create a cooler counterpoint to warm cabinetry and wood furniture.

Bluette can also work in hallways, cloakrooms and living spaces where the stone is intended to contribute visible colour and movement without becoming as dominant as a highly contrasting marble.

Why choose this exact marble tile collection?

Bluette is particularly suited to projects that want blue-grey natural stone with a quieter surface character. The honed finish keeps reflection controlled, allowing the marble’s tone and veining to provide the visual interest rather than surface shine.

The five available formats are another practical advantage. Instead of changing stone when moving between a small splashback, bathroom floor and larger wall, the tile format can change while the wider material direction remains consistent.

Because Bluette is natural marble, no two tiles will be identical. Colour, veining, tone and pattern will vary throughout an order. A sample is useful for understanding the general character of the stone but cannot represent every piece. Dry laying before fixing allows the installer to distribute stronger and quieter tiles across the surface in a considered way.

Which Starel Stones products complement Bluette?

The closest finishing products are the Bluette Marble Pencil Liner Trim and Bluette Marble Skirting.

The pencil liner measures 305 × 20 × 15mm and can be used where a slim marble edge, dividing line or finishing detail is required around tiled walls, niches or feature sections. The Bluette skirting measures 305 × 126 × 20mm and provides a more substantial stone finish at the base of a wall, helping the marble palette continue through to the wall-to-floor junction. Both use Bluette marble with a honed finish. (starelstones.co.uk)

Where a contrasting patterned surface is preferred, Bluestone and pale marble mosaics can also work alongside Bluette’s cooler colour direction. These should be treated as complementary materials rather than exact matches.

Before ordering and installation

Bluette is natural marble and requires appropriate sealing and stone-safe care. Use compatible adhesive, grout and pH-neutral cleaning products, and confirm the installation requirements for the exact format and application.

For floors and wet areas, assess the complete installation system before work begins. Order a sample as a guide and dry lay the tiles before fixing so natural variation can be balanced across the finished surface.

Yes! All our marble tiles and mosaics are suitable with underfloor heating.

All marble products are suitable for bathroom and shower use. Please seal the product upon installation.

Yes, we highly recommend dry laying your marble tiles before fixing them in place. Marble is a natural stone, and each tile is unique in its veining, tone, and pattern. Unlike man-made tiles, marble pieces are not identical, which is part of their beauty.

Dry laying means arranging all the tiles on the floor before applying adhesive, so you can:

  • Visualise the overall layout
  • Balance colour and pattern variations
  • Ensure the best placement of each tile

Skipping this step can lead to an uneven appearance, as tiles placed at random may clash in tone or pattern. Taking the time to dry lay ensures a more harmonious and professional finish.

Yes. All natural stone products, including marble, limestone, and onyx, require sealing to maintain their appearance and durability.

We recommend sealing the tiles after installation, once the adhesive is fully dry. This protects the marble from grout staining. After grouting, allow the grout to cure, then clean the tiles thoroughly and apply a final coat of stone sealer to protect both the tile and grout.

To keep your surfaces in top condition, reseal every 1–3 years, depending on usage and wear.

We recommend using the grout we supply. These Mapei products are specifically formulated for marble and high-end materials, ensuring the best finish and long-term performance.
We recommend using the adhesive listed below, which we supply. It is specifically suitable for marble, compatible with underfloor heating, and features a rapid setting time, essential, as the adhesive must be fully dry before sealing or grouting.
We recommend using a wet saw with a premium diamond blade.
We strongly advise that you do not book a tiler, plumber or tradespeople before your order arrives and we recommend you receive and check items from us before making any arrangements.
