The Calacatta Amazon Curved Flutes Marble Tile Collection is a three-dimensional natural marble surface for customers who want to introduce texture as well as colour and veining. Each 305 × 100 × 20mm honed piece is shaped with a curved fluted profile, creating alternating highlights and shadows across the stone. Combined with Calacatta Amazon’s pale background, deep green veining and warmer gold-toned movement, the profile gives the material a more architectural character than a conventional flat field tile.

Rather than covering every surface, the curved flutes are particularly effective when used to define a selected wall, furniture zone or feature area.

What can you achieve with curved marble flutes?

The defining benefit of this collection is surface depth. Standard marble tiles express colour and veining across a flat plane; curved flutes add relief, so changing light becomes part of the finished appearance.

The 305 × 100mm format creates a clear linear rhythm across the wall, while the 20mm profile gives the surface enough depth for the curved sections to register visually. The honed finish keeps reflection relatively restrained, allowing the profile itself, rather than a high-gloss surface, to create light and shade.

This makes the collection useful where you want Calacatta Amazon to become an architectural detail without introducing a completely different material.

Where do Calacatta Amazon Curved Flutes work best?

The curved format is especially suited to feature-led areas. It can be considered behind a bathroom vanity, across a selected shower wall, around a niche, behind shelving, on a kitchen feature section or as part of a statement wall in a living or entrance space.

It can also be used to create contrast within a wider Calacatta Amazon scheme. Flat field tiles can form the main wall or floor surface, while the curved flutes introduce texture to a smaller vertical area. This keeps the material palette connected while preventing the room from feeling visually repetitive.

Because the pieces have a pronounced profile, the position of corners, cut edges, junctions and adjoining finishes should be planned before installation.

Why choose this exact marble product?

Choose Calacatta Amazon Curved Flutes when the project needs more surface character than a standard flat tile can provide.

Calacatta Amazon already has a distinctive colour direction, with green movement and warmer gold-toned details against a lighter marble background. Shaping that stone into curved flutes adds another layer of interest by changing the way the surface responds to light.

This makes the product particularly effective where a relatively small area needs to carry more visual weight, such as a vanity backdrop or feature panel.

As with all natural marble, variation in colour, veining and movement should be expected. Individual pieces will not be identical, and a sample should be treated as a guide rather than an exact representation of a complete installation.

Which Starel Stones products complement Calacatta Amazon Curved Flutes?

The strongest companion is the Calacatta Amazon Marble Tile Collection. Its flat honed 150 × 75mm and 305 × 100mm formats can be used across adjoining walls or floors, allowing the curved flutes to remain the feature while maintaining the same broader material direction.

For smaller-scale decorative areas, the Calacatta Amazon Marble Mix Duo Herringbone Mosaic and Calacatta & Arabescato Amazon Square Marble Mosaic can introduce additional pattern within niches, splashbacks or selected feature sections.

For larger uninterrupted surfaces, Starel also carries Calacatta Amazon honed marble slabs. These can be considered for suitable vanity tops, splashbacks, worktops, fireplaces, feature panels and bespoke furniture pieces through Starel Atelier.

These products should be considered coordinated rather than guaranteed identical, as natural variation and different formats will affect tone, veining and overall appearance.

Before ordering and installation

Calacatta Amazon marble requires sealing. Use stone-compatible adhesive, grout and pH-neutral cleaning products, and confirm the installation requirements for the exact application.

Dry lay the pieces before fixing so the veining, colour variation and flute alignment can be reviewed together. Particular attention should be given to exposed edges, corners, cuts and transitions with adjoining materials so the profiled surface finishes cleanly.

Yes! All our marble tiles and mosaics are suitable with underfloor heating.

All marble products are suitable for bathroom and shower use. Please seal the product upon installation.

Yes, we highly recommend dry laying your marble tiles before fixing them in place. Marble is a natural stone, and each tile is unique in its veining, tone, and pattern. Unlike man-made tiles, marble pieces are not identical, which is part of their beauty.

Dry laying means arranging all the tiles on the floor before applying adhesive, so you can:

  • Visualise the overall layout
  • Balance colour and pattern variations
  • Ensure the best placement of each tile

Skipping this step can lead to an uneven appearance, as tiles placed at random may clash in tone or pattern. Taking the time to dry lay ensures a more harmonious and professional finish.

Yes. All natural stone products, including marble, limestone, and onyx, require sealing to maintain their appearance and durability.

We recommend sealing the tiles after installation, once the adhesive is fully dry. This protects the marble from grout staining. After grouting, allow the grout to cure, then clean the tiles thoroughly and apply a final coat of stone sealer to protect both the tile and grout.

To keep your surfaces in top condition, reseal every 1–3 years, depending on usage and wear.

We recommend using the grout we supply. These Mapei products are specifically formulated for marble and high-end materials, ensuring the best finish and long-term performance.
We recommend using the adhesive listed below, which we supply. It is specifically suitable for marble, compatible with underfloor heating, and features a rapid setting time, essential, as the adhesive must be fully dry before sealing or grouting.
We recommend using a wet saw with a premium diamond blade.
We strongly advise that you do not book a tiler, plumber or tradespeople before your order arrives and we recommend you receive and check items from us before making any arrangements.
