The Arabescato Gold Curved Flutes Marble Tile Collection is a three-dimensional natural marble surface designed for customers who want more than a conventional flat tiled wall. Each 100 × 305mm piece is shaped with a curved fluted profile, creating alternating areas of light and shadow across the stone. The result combines the warm natural movement of Arabescato Gold marble with a more architectural, tactile surface that can be used to define selected areas within an interior.

Rather than covering every surface, curved flutes work best where texture has a clear purpose: drawing attention to a wall, framing a furniture zone or creating contrast alongside smoother stone.

What can you achieve with curved marble flutes?

The main benefit of this format is depth. A standard marble tile expresses colour and veining across a flat plane; a fluted tile adds relief, allowing changing light to alter the way the surface is perceived throughout the day.

Arabescato Gold is particularly effective in this format because its pale background and warmer gold and amber movement continue across the sculpted surface. The honed, matte appearance keeps reflection comparatively restrained, while the curved profile creates its own highlights and shadows.

This makes the collection useful when you want marble to provide both material character and architectural detail without relying on an additional decorative material.

Where do Arabescato Gold Curved Flutes work best?

These pieces are particularly suited to feature-led wall applications. Consider them behind a vanity, on a selected bathroom wall, around a niche, as a kitchen feature section, behind shelving or furniture, or as part of a statement wall in a living or entrance space.

They can also be used to differentiate one part of a larger Arabescato Gold scheme. For example, flat marble tiles can provide the principal wall or floor surface, while curved flutes introduce texture to a smaller vertical area. This avoids making the room visually repetitive while keeping the material palette connected.

The 100 × 305mm format also creates a clear linear rhythm. How the pieces are positioned, cut and terminated will therefore affect the finished appearance, so the layout should be considered before installation rather than treated in the same way as a standard field tile.

Why choose this exact marble product?

Choose Arabescato Gold Curved Flutes when you want the warmth of Arabescato Gold marble combined with greater surface dimension.

The product is particularly effective for projects where a flat tile alone may feel too quiet, but introducing another colour or material would interrupt the scheme. The curved profile changes how the same stone interacts with light, giving a feature area stronger definition while retaining continuity with surrounding Arabescato Gold products.

Natural variation is an important part of the finished result. Tone, veining and gold-toned movement will differ between pieces, and the sculpted profile means these variations will appear differently as light moves across the surface. Samples should therefore be treated as a guide rather than an exact representation of the full installation.

Which Starel Stones products complement the curved flutes?

The most natural companion is the Arabescato Gold Marble Tile Collection. Its flat honed and matte formats can be used across adjoining walls or floors, allowing the curved flutes to become the feature rather than competing with another patterned material.

Arabescato Gold Marble Skirting can provide a coordinated finishing detail at the base of selected tiled walls. For smaller decorative areas, Arabescato Gold mosaics can introduce another scale of pattern within niches, splashbacks or adjoining sections.

For projects requiring larger uninterrupted stone surfaces, Arabescato Gold marble slabs can extend the same material direction into suitable vanity tops, splashbacks, fireplaces, furniture pieces or other bespoke elements through Starel Atelier and fabrication support.

These products should be considered coordinated rather than identical. Natural marble varies in colour, veining and movement, while differences in finish and surface profile will also affect how each element appears.

Before ordering and installation

Because curved flutes are a profiled natural-stone product, planning the layout, cuts, corners and exposed edges before installation is particularly important. Dry lay the pieces where practical to review natural variation and alignment.

Use stone-compatible installation products and pH-neutral cleaners, and confirm the fixing, sealing and application requirements for the exact project before installation.

Yes! All our marble tiles and mosaics are suitable with underfloor heating.

All marble products are suitable for bathroom and shower use. Please seal the product upon installation.

Yes, we highly recommend dry laying your marble tiles before fixing them in place. Marble is a natural stone, and each tile is unique in its veining, tone, and pattern. Unlike man-made tiles, marble pieces are not identical, which is part of their beauty.

Dry laying means arranging all the tiles on the floor before applying adhesive, so you can:

  • Visualise the overall layout
  • Balance colour and pattern variations
  • Ensure the best placement of each tile

Skipping this step can lead to an uneven appearance, as tiles placed at random may clash in tone or pattern. Taking the time to dry lay ensures a more harmonious and professional finish.

Yes. All natural stone products, including marble, limestone, and onyx, require sealing to maintain their appearance and durability.

We recommend sealing the tiles after installation, once the adhesive is fully dry. This protects the marble from grout staining. After grouting, allow the grout to cure, then clean the tiles thoroughly and apply a final coat of stone sealer to protect both the tile and grout.

To keep your surfaces in top condition, reseal every 1–3 years, depending on usage and wear.

We recommend using the grout we supply. These Mapei products are specifically formulated for marble and high-end materials, ensuring the best finish and long-term performance.
We recommend using the adhesive listed below, which we supply. It is specifically suitable for marble, compatible with underfloor heating, and features a rapid setting time, essential, as the adhesive must be fully dry before sealing or grouting.
We recommend using a wet saw with a premium diamond blade.
We strongly advise that you do not book a tiler, plumber or tradespeople before your order arrives and we recommend you receive and check items from us before making any arrangements.
