Calacatta Lilac Marble Dado Moulding is a 305 × 40 × 15 mm honed natural marble trim, sold per piece. Its raised moulded profile gives tiled walls a more defined architectural finish and creates a deliberate boundary within the layout. Use it to cap half-height tiling, form a horizontal transition between tile and another wall finish, separate two tile formats or frame a niche, splashback or feature panel.
WHERE IT WORKS BEST
This dado moulding is particularly suited to bathroom, cloakroom and kitchen wall schemes where a pronounced decorative line is required. At 40 mm high with a 15 mm profile, it has greater visual presence than a narrow pencil liner. Its honed finish softens surface reflection, while the white marble background and natural lilac, plum and grey movement allow the trim to become a visible part of the design rather than simply covering an exposed edge.
COORDINATING PRODUCTS
For a cohesive material palette, pair the moulding with the honed Calacatta Lilac Marble Tile Collection, available in metro, rectangular and square formats. Use the Calacatta Lilac Pencil Liner Trim where a slimmer dividing line, frame or edge detail is needed.
The Calacatta Lilac Honed Skirting or Calacatta Lilac Slim Skirting can continue the same marble character at the base of the wall. Matching Calacatta Lilac Herringbone, Long Herringbone, Clover and Square Mosaics can introduce a smaller scale within niches, splashbacks and other feature areas.
The coordinating field tiles are 10 mm thick, while this dado moulding has a 15 mm profile. Its projection, adhesive build-up, corners, returns and junctions should therefore be planned with the installer before ordering.
NATURAL MARBLE, ORDERING AND CARE
Each 305 mm piece provides approximately 0.305 linear metres before joints, cuts and wastage. Include an appropriate allowance for corners and fitting adjustments.
As this product is made from natural marble, colour, veining and tone will vary between pieces and between coordinating products. These differences are part of the stone’s character rather than defects. Samples and product imagery should be treated as guides, and the selected tiles, trims and mosaics should ideally be compared and arranged together before installation.
Marble may require sealing according to the application and installation system. Confirm the correct treatment with the installer or sealer manufacturer, and use pH-neutral, stone-safe products for routine care. Professional cutting and installation are recommended.
Yes! All our marble tiles and mosaics are suitable with underfloor heating.
Yes, we highly recommend dry laying your marble tiles before fixing them in place. Marble is a natural stone, and each tile is unique in its veining, tone, and pattern. Unlike man-made tiles, marble pieces are not identical, which is part of their beauty.
Dry laying means arranging all the tiles on the floor before applying adhesive, so you can:
Skipping this step can lead to an uneven appearance, as tiles placed at random may clash in tone or pattern. Taking the time to dry lay ensures a more harmonious and professional finish.
Yes. All natural stone products, including marble, limestone, and onyx, require sealing to maintain their appearance and durability.
We recommend sealing the tiles after installation, once the adhesive is fully dry. This protects the marble from grout staining. After grouting, allow the grout to cure, then clean the tiles thoroughly and apply a final coat of stone sealer to protect both the tile and grout.
To keep your surfaces in top condition, reseal every 1–3 years, depending on usage and wear.
