The Calacatta Amber Marble Tile Collection is a honed natural marble range for creating light, warm stone-led walls and floors with the individual movement of real marble. Available in four formats from compact 150 × 75mm metro tiles to larger 610 × 305mm rectangles, it lets you change the scale and rhythm of bathrooms, kitchens and wider interiors while maintaining one connected material direction. Pair with Calacatta Amber Herringbone or Hexagon mosaics for smaller-scale detail, or move into the 1200 × 600mm Calacatta Amber XL slab tile where fewer joints and a larger visual scale are preferred. Suitable for underfloor heating; sealing is required.

The Calacatta Amber Marble Tile Collection is a honed natural marble range for customers who want a light stone surface with a warmer overall character than a conventional cool white-and-grey marble. Its natural variation gives each installation individual movement, while the honed finish keeps reflection relatively controlled and allows the stone itself to provide the visual interest.

The collection is available in four 10mm formats — 150 × 75mm, 305 × 75mm, 305 × 305mm and 610 × 305mm — giving you flexibility across smaller feature areas, broader walls and complete floors.

What can you achieve with Calacatta Amber marble tiles?

The main benefit of this collection is the ability to change tile scale without changing material direction.

The 150 × 75mm and 305 × 75mm metro formats create more visible grout lines and a stronger linear rhythm, making them particularly useful for splashbacks, shower walls, niches and smaller feature sections.

The 305 × 305mm square creates a balanced grid and works well where a regular geometric layout is preferred. For broader walls and floors, the 610 × 305mm rectangular tile reduces the number of joints and gives each piece more space to show its natural marble movement.

Using more than one format can also help distinguish different zones within the same room while keeping the overall palette connected.

Where does Calacatta Amber work best?

The collection is suitable for interior walls and floors, including bathrooms and kitchens, and is compatible with underfloor heating.

In bathrooms, Calacatta Amber can be used across floors, shower walls, bath surrounds and vanity backdrops. Its pale natural-stone palette works well with white sanitaryware, warm oak or walnut vanity units and both warm and cooler metal finishes.

In kitchens, it can create a natural marble floor or tiled wall surface and can help connect cabinetry with stone worktops, splashbacks or furniture elsewhere in the scheme.

The larger 610 × 305mm format can also work well in hallways and wider living spaces where fewer grout lines and a calmer surface are preferred.

Why choose this exact marble tile collection?

Calacatta Amber is a strong choice when the project calls for light marble with warmth, natural variation and useful format flexibility.

Unlike a manufactured white tile, natural marble changes from piece to piece. Tone, veining and movement will vary throughout an order, so the finished surface develops from the relationship between individual tiles rather than a repeated printed pattern.

The honed finish gives the collection a softer surface character than polished marble, while the four available formats allow the same stone direction to move from detailed feature tiling to larger field surfaces.

Samples are useful for understanding the general appearance of the material but cannot represent every tile within an order. Dry laying before installation is recommended so stronger and quieter pieces can be distributed across the finished surface in a considered way.

Which Starel Stones products complement Calacatta Amber?

For smaller-scale pattern, the Calacatta Amber Marble Herringbone Mosaic is one of the strongest same-family pairings. It can introduce more directional detail within shower niches, splashbacks and selected feature areas while keeping the wider Calacatta Amber material direction.

The Calacatta Amber Marble Hexagon Mosaic provides a more geometric alternative. Its honed finish and compact format make it useful where a change in tile shape is preferred rather than a different stone.

Where the project needs a larger visual scale, the Calacatta Amber Marble XL Slab Tile 1200 × 600 × 20mm Honed can extend the same material direction across broader walls or floors with fewer joints. Starel specifically positions this XL tile as part of the wider Amber marble collection.

Calacatta Amber can also be combined with deeper stones in mixed mosaics. Starel currently pairs it with Amarone in the Amarone and Calacatta Amber Marble Madras Mosaic, providing a warmer contrasting option for decorative areas.

These related products should be treated as coordinated natural stone rather than guaranteed identical matches.

Before ordering and installation

Calacatta Amber marble requires sealing. Use stone-compatible adhesive, grout and pH-neutral cleaning products, and confirm installation requirements for the selected format and application.

Order a sample as a guide and dry lay the tiles before fixing. For floors and wet areas, assess the complete installation system, including substrate preparation, fixing, sealing and the intended use of the finished surface.

Yes! All our marble tiles and mosaics are suitable with underfloor heating.

All marble products are suitable for bathroom and shower use. Please seal the product upon installation.

Yes, we highly recommend dry laying your marble tiles before fixing them in place. Marble is a natural stone, and each tile is unique in its veining, tone, and pattern. Unlike man-made tiles, marble pieces are not identical, which is part of their beauty.

Dry laying means arranging all the tiles on the floor before applying adhesive, so you can:

  • Visualise the overall layout
  • Balance colour and pattern variations
  • Ensure the best placement of each tile

Skipping this step can lead to an uneven appearance, as tiles placed at random may clash in tone or pattern. Taking the time to dry lay ensures a more harmonious and professional finish.

Yes. All natural stone products, including marble, limestone, and onyx, require sealing to maintain their appearance and durability.

We recommend sealing the tiles after installation, once the adhesive is fully dry. This protects the marble from grout staining. After grouting, allow the grout to cure, then clean the tiles thoroughly and apply a final coat of stone sealer to protect both the tile and grout.

To keep your surfaces in top condition, reseal every 1–3 years, depending on usage and wear.

We recommend using the grout we supply. These Mapei products are specifically formulated for marble and high-end materials, ensuring the best finish and long-term performance.
We recommend using the adhesive listed below, which we supply. It is specifically suitable for marble, compatible with underfloor heating, and features a rapid setting time, essential, as the adhesive must be fully dry before sealing or grouting.
We recommend using a wet saw with a premium diamond blade.
We strongly advise that you do not book a tiler, plumber or tradespeople before your order arrives and we recommend you receive and check items from us before making any arrangements.
