The Arabescato Amazon Marble Dado Moulding is a shaped, honed natural marble trim measuring 305 × 40 × 20mm and sold by the piece. Its purpose is to give tiled walls a clear, considered finishing detail: use it to complete the top of a partially tiled wall, create a decorative horizontal border or mark a transition between different tile formats and feature sections. Compared with a narrow pencil liner, the dado profile brings greater depth and architectural definition without introducing an unrelated finishing material.

Arabescato Amazon has a distinctive green-and-white palette, giving this moulding more visual character than a neutral stone trim. The honed surface keeps the finish soft and low sheen, allowing the natural movement of the marble to remain the focus. It works particularly well above half-height bathroom or cloakroom tiling, along kitchen splashbacks, and around niches, mosaic panels or other framed features where a plain cut tile edge could otherwise feel unresolved. The current Starel product record lists the moulding for bathroom, floor, kitchen, wall and general interior applications.

For the closest coordination, pair it with the Arabescato Amazon Marble Tile Collection. The collection is available in several honed formats, including 200 × 200 × 10mm, 305 × 75 × 10mm, 305 × 305 × 10mm, 610 × 305 × 10mm and 610 × 405 × 10mm, allowing the moulding to sit within a fully connected wall or floor scheme.

Where a slimmer detail is required elsewhere in the room, the Arabescato Amazon Marble Pencil Trim can be used around exposed edges, niches or narrow dividing lines. For the wall-to-floor junction, Starel also carries a coordinating Arabescato Amazon Marble Skirting, creating the option to use different trim profiles according to the job each junction needs to perform.

For decorative areas, the Arabescato Amazon Marble Madras Mosaic can introduce a smaller-scale checkerboard pattern while retaining the same collection character. It is also honed, making it a particularly natural companion for niches, splashbacks or feature panels framed by the dado moulding.

Choose this exact moulding where the design needs a pronounced marble border with more presence than a pencil trim, while keeping the finish tied to the wider Arabescato Amazon palette. As this is natural marble, variation in colour, tone, veining and pattern should be expected. Dry lay the moulding with the selected tiles or mosaics before fixing so that this variation can be distributed thoughtfully. Sealing should form part of the natural-stone installation, and ongoing care should use suitable pH-neutral, stone-safe products. Final cutting and positioning should be confirmed for the specific installation.

Yes! All our marble tiles and mosaics are suitable with underfloor heating.

All marble products are suitable for bathroom and shower use. Please seal the product upon installation.

Yes, we highly recommend dry laying your marble tiles before fixing them in place. Marble is a natural stone, and each tile is unique in its veining, tone, and pattern. Unlike man-made tiles, marble pieces are not identical, which is part of their beauty.

Dry laying means arranging all the tiles on the floor before applying adhesive, so you can:

  • Visualise the overall layout
  • Balance colour and pattern variations
  • Ensure the best placement of each tile

Skipping this step can lead to an uneven appearance, as tiles placed at random may clash in tone or pattern. Taking the time to dry lay ensures a more harmonious and professional finish.

Yes. All natural stone products, including marble, limestone, and onyx, require sealing to maintain their appearance and durability.

We recommend sealing the tiles after installation, once the adhesive is fully dry. This protects the marble from grout staining. After grouting, allow the grout to cure, then clean the tiles thoroughly and apply a final coat of stone sealer to protect both the tile and grout.

To keep your surfaces in top condition, reseal every 1–3 years, depending on usage and wear.

We recommend using the grout we supply. These Mapei products are specifically formulated for marble and high-end materials, ensuring the best finish and long-term performance.
We recommend using the adhesive listed below, which we supply. It is specifically suitable for marble, compatible with underfloor heating, and features a rapid setting time, essential, as the adhesive must be fully dry before sealing or grouting.
We recommend using a wet saw with a premium diamond blade.
We strongly advise that you do not book a tiler, plumber or tradespeople before your order arrives and we recommend you receive and check items from us before making any arrangements.
