The Calacatta Viola Marble Dado Moulding – Batch 3 is a shaped natural marble trim measuring 305 × 40 × 15mm, supplied with a honed finish. Designed to create more definition than a slim pencil liner, its raised profile can be used to complete the top of a tiled section, form a decorative horizontal border or create a considered transition between different tile formats and surface treatments.

This dado moulding works particularly well above half-height bathroom tiling, around splashbacks and as part of a framed feature wall or decorative panel. Its architectural profile gives the layout a clear endpoint, helping the installation feel deliberately composed rather than simply stopping at a cut tile edge. The honed surface keeps the finish soft and understated while allowing the marble’s light ground, burgundy and violet patterning, grey detail and natural movement to remain prominent.

For the closest colour and batch relationship, pair it with the Calacatta Viola Batch 3 Marble Tile Collection, available in honed rectangular and square formats. Using the moulding and tiles from the same named batch helps create a connected palette across the main surface and its finishing details. Selected Calacatta Viola mosaics, including chevron, picket, medallion and pill formats, may also complement the moulding within niches, splashbacks or feature sections. As these mosaics are not identified as Batch 3 products, the exact pieces should be viewed together before ordering to confirm that their tone and movement suit the intended scheme.

Choose this exact moulding where the project calls for a distinctive marble border with greater presence than a narrow trim. As Calacatta Viola is a natural stone, each piece will vary in colour, veining, tone and pattern. Dry laying the moulding with the selected tiles before fixing will help distribute this variation thoughtfully. Sealing is recommended, and routine care should use suitable pH-neutral, stone-safe products. Final positioning, cutting and installation should be confirmed with a professional installer.

Yes! All our marble tiles and mosaics are suitable with underfloor heating.

All marble products are suitable for bathroom and shower use. Please seal the product upon installation.

Yes, we highly recommend dry laying your marble tiles before fixing them in place. Marble is a natural stone, and each tile is unique in its veining, tone, and pattern. Unlike man-made tiles, marble pieces are not identical, which is part of their beauty.

Dry laying means arranging all the tiles on the floor before applying adhesive, so you can:

  • Visualise the overall layout
  • Balance colour and pattern variations
  • Ensure the best placement of each tile

Skipping this step can lead to an uneven appearance, as tiles placed at random may clash in tone or pattern. Taking the time to dry lay ensures a more harmonious and professional finish.

Yes. All natural stone products, including marble, limestone, and onyx, require sealing to maintain their appearance and durability.

We recommend sealing the tiles after installation, once the adhesive is fully dry. This protects the marble from grout staining. After grouting, allow the grout to cure, then clean the tiles thoroughly and apply a final coat of stone sealer to protect both the tile and grout.

To keep your surfaces in top condition, reseal every 1–3 years, depending on usage and wear.

We recommend using the grout we supply. These Mapei products are specifically formulated for marble and high-end materials, ensuring the best finish and long-term performance.
We recommend using the adhesive listed below, which we supply. It is specifically suitable for marble, compatible with underfloor heating, and features a rapid setting time, essential, as the adhesive must be fully dry before sealing or grouting.
We recommend using a wet saw with a premium diamond blade.
We strongly advise that you do not book a tiler, plumber or tradespeople before your order arrives and we recommend you receive and check items from us before making any arrangements.
