The Aegean White Marble Tumbled Penny Hexagon Mosaic is a natural marble mosaic designed to bring fine geometric texture and a softer stone character to bathroom floors, shower areas, splashbacks, niches and feature walls. Its small repeated hexagons create a more intricate surface than a standard field tile or broader hexagon mosaic, while the tumbled finish softens the geometry and gives the marble a more relaxed appearance. Pair with tumbled Aegean White field tiles for a consistent finish, or compare with the Honed Penny Hexagon and Tumbled Hexagon mosaics where a cleaner surface or broader pattern scale is preferred. Sealing is required.

The Aegean White Marble Tumbled Penny Hexagon Mosaic is a natural marble mosaic for customers who want fine geometric pattern with a softer, more relaxed surface character. Its small repeating hexagons create a detailed field with greater visual texture than a conventional tile, while the tumbled finish reduces the sharpness of the geometry and gives the stone a more established, natural appearance.

Aegean White keeps the overall palette pale and adaptable, so the pattern can become part of the design without introducing a strongly contrasting colour.

What does the Tumbled Penny Hexagon Mosaic help you achieve?

The main benefit is fine-scale geometry with softer edges and texture.

A standard field tile produces broader areas of stone with fewer joints. Penny Hexagon breaks the surface into many smaller repeated shapes, increasing the level of detail and giving the finished installation a more intricate rhythm.

The tumbled finish changes how that geometry is perceived. Rather than creating a crisp, precise outline around each hexagon, the softer edges and surface treatment make the pattern feel more relaxed and material-led.

This makes the mosaic particularly useful where you want a feature area to have more visual interest but do not want the sharper appearance of a honed geometric mosaic.

Where does Aegean White Tumbled Penny Hexagon work best?

The wider Aegean White marble range is suitable for bathrooms, kitchens, interior walls and floors and can be used with underfloor heating.

In bathrooms, this mosaic can work particularly well across shower areas, floors, niches and vanity backdrops. The smaller hexagonal scale gives these surfaces more detail and can help distinguish them from larger adjoining field tiles.

In kitchens, it can create a textural splashback or selected feature wall while remaining easy to coordinate with pale cabinetry, warm oak or walnut and quieter stone worktops.

It can also suit cloakrooms, entrances and other compact interiors where a finely patterned natural-stone surface can give the space more identity without relying on stronger colour.

Why choose this exact Aegean White mosaic?

Choose the Tumbled Penny Hexagon when you want the finer pattern scale of Penny Hexagon combined with the softer character of a tumbled finish.

The Aegean White Marble Honed Penny Hexagon Mosaic is the closest comparison where a cleaner, more precise surface is preferred. Both use a finer hexagonal rhythm, but the difference in finish changes the overall character significantly.

The Aegean White Marble Tumbled Hexagon Mosaic provides another useful comparison. It keeps the tumbled finish but uses a broader hexagon scale, making it better suited where the individual geometry should read more clearly across the room.

This means the decision is not simply between similar white-marble mosaics. It is a choice between pattern scale and finish.

As natural marble, Aegean White will vary in colour, tone, veining and movement. Samples should therefore be treated as guides rather than exact matches. Dry laying the sheets before fixing allows both the natural variation and the repeated pattern to be reviewed together.

Which Starel Stones products complement it?

The Aegean White Marble Tile Collection is the strongest companion for larger adjoining surfaces. Starel currently offers Aegean White field tiles in both honed and tumbled finishes, allowing you either to maintain the softer surface character or create a deliberate finish contrast.

The Aegean White Marble Honed Penny Hexagon Mosaic is the most relevant alternative for customers who like the finer hexagonal scale but want a smoother, cleaner finish.

The Aegean White Marble Tumbled Hexagon Mosaic is the best comparison where the softer tumbled surface is preferred but a broader geometric pattern is wanted.

For a different layout direction, the Aegean White Marble Tumbled Herringbone Mosaic introduces angled movement while retaining a similarly relaxed finish. Starel also carries Basket, Large Basket, Clover, Diamond and Flower mosaics for projects that need a change in geometry without changing the principal marble family.

These products should be treated as coordinated natural marble rather than guaranteed identical matches.

Before ordering and installation

Aegean White marble requires sealing. Use stone-compatible adhesive, grout and pH-neutral, stone-safe cleaning products.

Dry lay the mosaic before fixing so natural variation, sheet transitions and hexagon alignment can be reviewed together. For floors, showers and other wet areas, confirm the complete installation system, including substrate preparation, waterproofing where required, adhesive, grout and sealing.

Yes! All our marble tiles and mosaics are suitable with underfloor heating.

All marble products are suitable for bathroom and shower use. Please seal the product upon installation.

Yes, we highly recommend dry laying your marble tiles before fixing them in place. Marble is a natural stone, and each tile is unique in its veining, tone, and pattern. Unlike man-made tiles, marble pieces are not identical, which is part of their beauty.

Dry laying means arranging all the tiles on the floor before applying adhesive, so you can:

  • Visualise the overall layout
  • Balance colour and pattern variations
  • Ensure the best placement of each tile

Skipping this step can lead to an uneven appearance, as tiles placed at random may clash in tone or pattern. Taking the time to dry lay ensures a more harmonious and professional finish.

Yes. All natural stone products, including marble, limestone, and onyx, require sealing to maintain their appearance and durability.

We recommend sealing the tiles after installation, once the adhesive is fully dry. This protects the marble from grout staining. After grouting, allow the grout to cure, then clean the tiles thoroughly and apply a final coat of stone sealer to protect both the tile and grout.

To keep your surfaces in top condition, reseal every 1–3 years, depending on usage and wear.

We recommend using the grout we supply. These Mapei products are specifically formulated for marble and high-end materials, ensuring the best finish and long-term performance.
We recommend using the adhesive listed below, which we supply. It is specifically suitable for marble, compatible with underfloor heating, and features a rapid setting time, essential, as the adhesive must be fully dry before sealing or grouting.
We recommend using a wet saw with a premium diamond blade.
We strongly advise that you do not book a tiler, plumber or tradespeople before your order arrives and we recommend you receive and check items from us before making any arrangements.
