The Botticino Marble Dado Moulding is a shaped natural marble trim measuring 305 × 40 × 20mm. Unlike a slim pencil liner, its deeper, curved profile creates a more pronounced architectural detail, making it suitable for defining the top of a tiled section, separating different tile formats or introducing a decorative horizontal border across a wall.
It works particularly well in bathrooms, kitchens, cloakrooms and other interior wall schemes where a plain cut edge would feel unfinished. Use it above half-height tiling, around a splashback or as part of a framed feature panel to give the installation clearer structure and a considered sense of completion. The honed finish provides a soft, low-sheen surface that complements the warm beige colouring and understated natural movement of Botticino marble.
For the closest material and tonal relationship, pair this moulding with the Botticino Marble Tile Collection. The matching tiles are also honed and are intended for interior wall and floor applications, allowing the moulding to continue the same stone character through the wider scheme. Where a layout also needs a narrower edge, divider or framing detail, the Botticino Marble Pencil Liner Trim offers a coordinated companion profile.
Choose this exact product when the design requires more definition than a simple flat trim can provide. Its 40mm face and 20mm depth create visible relief, helping tiled areas read as a complete architectural feature rather than a surface that ends abruptly.
Botticino is a natural marble, so colour, veining and tone will vary between pieces. Review and dry lay the moulding with the selected tiles before fixing so the natural variation can be distributed thoughtfully. Sealing is required, and ongoing care should use suitable pH-neutral, stone-safe products. Final positioning, cutting and installation should be confirmed with a professional installer.
Yes! All our marble tiles and mosaics are suitable with underfloor heating.
Yes, we highly recommend dry laying your marble tiles before fixing them in place. Marble is a natural stone, and each tile is unique in its veining, tone, and pattern. Unlike man-made tiles, marble pieces are not identical, which is part of their beauty.
Dry laying means arranging all the tiles on the floor before applying adhesive, so you can:
Skipping this step can lead to an uneven appearance, as tiles placed at random may clash in tone or pattern. Taking the time to dry lay ensures a more harmonious and professional finish.
Yes. All natural stone products, including marble, limestone, and onyx, require sealing to maintain their appearance and durability.
We recommend sealing the tiles after installation, once the adhesive is fully dry. This protects the marble from grout staining. After grouting, allow the grout to cure, then clean the tiles thoroughly and apply a final coat of stone sealer to protect both the tile and grout.
To keep your surfaces in top condition, reseal every 1–3 years, depending on usage and wear.
