The Calacatta Amber Dado Moulding is a honed natural marble trim measuring 305 × 40 × 15mm, designed to give tiled walls a more pronounced and considered finishing detail. Its shaped profile can be used to complete the top of a partially tiled wall, create a decorative horizontal border or form a transition between different tile formats and feature areas. Compared with a slim pencil liner, the dado moulding introduces greater depth and definition while remaining coordinated with the surrounding stone.

It works particularly well in bathrooms, kitchens, cloakrooms and other interior wall schemes, including above half-height tiling, along splashbacks and around framed mosaic panels or recessed features. The Calacatta Amber palette combines a milky white background with delicate amber-toned veining, while the honed finish keeps the surface soft and low sheen. This makes the moulding a useful choice where the design needs a warm marble accent without introducing an unrelated material or strongly contrasting trim.

For the closest coordination, pair it with the Calacatta Amber Marble Tile Collection, available in several honed square, metro and rectangular formats. The Calacatta Amber Marble Pencil Trim can be used elsewhere in the same scheme for slimmer edges, niche framing and dividing lines, while the Calacatta Amber Marble Skirting provides a substantial finish at the wall-to-floor junction. Decorative areas can also be developed using coordinating Calacatta Amber mosaics, including herringbone, chevron, hexagon, clover and flower formats, allowing the dado moulding to frame or separate patterned sections while retaining the same collection character.

Choose this exact product when the project calls for a visible architectural border with more presence than a pencil liner, but still needs the finish to remain connected to the Calacatta Amber tile scheme. As this is natural marble, colour, veining, tone and movement will vary between pieces. Dry laying the moulding with the selected tiles or mosaics before fixing will help distribute this variation thoughtfully. Sealing is required, and ongoing care should use suitable pH-neutral, stone-safe products. Final cutting, positioning and installation should be confirmed for the specific project.

Yes! All our marble tiles and mosaics are suitable with underfloor heating.

All marble products are suitable for bathroom and shower use. Please seal the product upon installation.

Yes, we highly recommend dry laying your marble tiles before fixing them in place. Marble is a natural stone, and each tile is unique in its veining, tone, and pattern. Unlike man-made tiles, marble pieces are not identical, which is part of their beauty.

Dry laying means arranging all the tiles on the floor before applying adhesive, so you can:

  • Visualise the overall layout
  • Balance colour and pattern variations
  • Ensure the best placement of each tile

Skipping this step can lead to an uneven appearance, as tiles placed at random may clash in tone or pattern. Taking the time to dry lay ensures a more harmonious and professional finish.

Yes. All natural stone products, including marble, limestone, and onyx, require sealing to maintain their appearance and durability.

We recommend sealing the tiles after installation, once the adhesive is fully dry. This protects the marble from grout staining. After grouting, allow the grout to cure, then clean the tiles thoroughly and apply a final coat of stone sealer to protect both the tile and grout.

To keep your surfaces in top condition, reseal every 1–3 years, depending on usage and wear.

We recommend using the grout we supply. These Mapei products are specifically formulated for marble and high-end materials, ensuring the best finish and long-term performance.
We recommend using the adhesive listed below, which we supply. It is specifically suitable for marble, compatible with underfloor heating, and features a rapid setting time, essential, as the adhesive must be fully dry before sealing or grouting.
We recommend using a wet saw with a premium diamond blade.
We strongly advise that you do not book a tiler, plumber or tradespeople before your order arrives and we recommend you receive and check items from us before making any arrangements.
