The Calacatta Amber Marble Skirting is a honed natural marble profile measuring 305 × 126 × 20mm, designed to finish the base of an interior wall with a substantial stone detail. It helps create a resolved transition between wall and floor surfaces while protecting the lower section of the wall from everyday knocks and cleaning. Where the surrounding scheme already uses natural stone, it also provides a more continuous alternative to introducing painted wood skirting.
Calacatta Amber has a warm, light background with delicate honey-gold and amber-toned veining, giving the skirting a softer character than cooler grey-veined white marbles. The honed finish keeps the surface low sheen, making it particularly suitable for bathrooms, kitchens, cloakrooms, entrance areas and hallways where the perimeter detail is intended to feel integrated with the wider tile scheme.
For the closest coordination, pair the skirting with the Calacatta Amber Marble Tile Collection. Starel offers the collection in several honed metro, square and rectangular formats, allowing the same marble palette to continue across floors, walls and perimeter details. The Calacatta Amber Marble Pencil Trim can provide a slimmer detail around niches, exposed tile edges and dividing lines, while the Calacatta Amber Dado Moulding offers a more pronounced decorative border higher on the wall.
Calacatta Amber mosaics can introduce pattern without leaving the wider material family. Options within Starel’s current range include Herringbone, Chevron, Hexagon, Clover, Ivy, Leaf, Mini and Scallop mosaics, among others. These can work particularly well within shower features, niches or splashbacks, with the skirting providing a calmer, linear detail around the room.
Choose this exact skirting where the aim is to carry Calacatta Amber through to the wall-to-floor junction rather than treating the perimeter as a separate finishing element. Its 126mm height gives it greater architectural presence than a slim trim, while the warm marble palette keeps the result considered rather than visually heavy.
As Calacatta Amber is natural marble, variation in colour, veining, tone and movement should be expected. Dry lay the skirting with the selected tiles before fixing so that this variation can be distributed thoughtfully. Sealing is required for coordinating Calacatta Amber marble mosaics, and the completed natural-stone scheme should be maintained using suitable pH-neutral, stone-safe products.
QA note before publishing: the supplied July 2026 product exports consistently list this skirting as 305 × 126 × 20mm, which is also consistent with its classification as a skirting. The currently indexed live page displays 15 × 18 × 305mm, which appears to be pencil-trim dimensions and conflicts with the latest product data. I recommend correcting the live specification to 305 × 126 × 20mm alongside the description update.
Yes! All our marble tiles and mosaics are suitable with underfloor heating.
Yes, we highly recommend dry laying your marble tiles before fixing them in place. Marble is a natural stone, and each tile is unique in its veining, tone, and pattern. Unlike man-made tiles, marble pieces are not identical, which is part of their beauty.
Dry laying means arranging all the tiles on the floor before applying adhesive, so you can:
Skipping this step can lead to an uneven appearance, as tiles placed at random may clash in tone or pattern. Taking the time to dry lay ensures a more harmonious and professional finish.
Yes. All natural stone products, including marble, limestone, and onyx, require sealing to maintain their appearance and durability.
We recommend sealing the tiles after installation, once the adhesive is fully dry. This protects the marble from grout staining. After grouting, allow the grout to cure, then clean the tiles thoroughly and apply a final coat of stone sealer to protect both the tile and grout.
To keep your surfaces in top condition, reseal every 1–3 years, depending on usage and wear.
