The Arabescato Viola Rosa Marble Skirting is a substantial honed marble profile measuring 305 × 126 × 20mm, created to finish the junction between a tiled wall and floor. It offers a more material-led alternative to painted wood skirting, helping protect the lower wall while continuing the stone palette around the room for a complete, architectural result.
This particular marble is characterised by a light ground with soft pink colouring and expressive burgundy and grey veining. The honed finish keeps the surface understated, allowing the natural movement of the stone to provide the detail. It works particularly well in bathrooms, kitchens, cloakrooms, hallways and other interior spaces where conventional skirting would interrupt a coordinated marble scheme.
For the closest match, pair it with Starel Stones’ Arabescato Viola Rosa Marble Tile Collection, available in honed 200 × 200 × 10mm and 610 × 305 × 10mm formats. Using the skirting with tiles from the same named range creates continuity across walls, floors and perimeter details. The Arabescato Viola Rosa Marble Pencil Liner Trim can complete slimmer edges or frame niches and decorative panels, while the matching Arabescato Viola Rosa Marble Dado Moulding provides a broader horizontal border where greater relief is required.
Choose this exact skirting when the aim is to retain Arabescato Viola Rosa’s distinctive rosé and violet character throughout the installation rather than introducing an unrelated finishing material. As marble is natural, each piece will vary in colour, tone, pattern and veining. Dry laying the selected skirting and tiles before fixing will help distribute that variation thoughtfully. Sealing is required, and the finished surface should be maintained with suitable pH-neutral, stone-safe products.
Yes! All our marble tiles and mosaics are suitable with underfloor heating.
Yes, we highly recommend dry laying your marble tiles before fixing them in place. Marble is a natural stone, and each tile is unique in its veining, tone, and pattern. Unlike man-made tiles, marble pieces are not identical, which is part of their beauty.
Dry laying means arranging all the tiles on the floor before applying adhesive, so you can:
Skipping this step can lead to an uneven appearance, as tiles placed at random may clash in tone or pattern. Taking the time to dry lay ensures a more harmonious and professional finish.
Yes. All natural stone products, including marble, limestone, and onyx, require sealing to maintain their appearance and durability.
We recommend sealing the tiles after installation, once the adhesive is fully dry. This protects the marble from grout staining. After grouting, allow the grout to cure, then clean the tiles thoroughly and apply a final coat of stone sealer to protect both the tile and grout.
To keep your surfaces in top condition, reseal every 1–3 years, depending on usage and wear.
