The Calacatta Viola Monet Marble Skirting is a natural marble finishing piece designed to create a clean, coordinated transition between wall and floor surfaces. Rather than leaving exposed tile edges or relying on painted skirting boards, this marble skirting extends the material palette of your interior to produce a more complete and considered installation.
Manufactured from natural Calacatta Viola Monet marble with a honed finish, each piece displays its own distinctive combination of white tones, rich burgundy and violet veining, and subtle natural movement. No two pieces are identical, giving every installation its own individual character while maintaining the refined appearance associated with this sought-after marble. Natural variation should be expected and appreciated as part of the material.
This skirting is particularly well suited to luxury bathrooms, en-suites, cloakrooms, kitchens, utility rooms, hallways and feature wall installations, where it provides a durable decorative detail while helping protect the base of tiled walls from everyday knocks and cleaning. It creates a more seamless architectural finish than standard painted skirting and helps tie the entire scheme together.
For the most cohesive result, the Calacatta Viola Monet Marble Skirting is designed to complement Starel Stones’ Calacatta Viola Monet marble tiles, allowing walls, floors and finishing details to share the same material character. It also pairs naturally with other products from the Calacatta Viola collection, including coordinating trims and selected marble mosaics, making it easier to achieve a fully integrated design rather than mixing unrelated finishing materials.
The honed finish provides a soft, understated appearance that highlights the marble’s natural veining without excessive reflection, making it suitable for both contemporary and more traditional interiors. Whether used throughout an entire room or as a finishing detail within a feature space, it contributes to a balanced, material-led design.
As with all natural marble products, colour, veining and tonal variation will differ from piece to piece. Samples should be treated as a guide rather than an exact representation of the finished installation. Sealing is recommended as part of the installation and ongoing maintenance, and stone-safe, pH-neutral cleaning products should be used to help preserve the surface over time.
Yes! All our marble tiles and mosaics are suitable with underfloor heating.
Yes, we highly recommend dry laying your marble tiles before fixing them in place. Marble is a natural stone, and each tile is unique in its veining, tone, and pattern. Unlike man-made tiles, marble pieces are not identical, which is part of their beauty.
Dry laying means arranging all the tiles on the floor before applying adhesive, so you can:
Skipping this step can lead to an uneven appearance, as tiles placed at random may clash in tone or pattern. Taking the time to dry lay ensures a more harmonious and professional finish.
Yes. All natural stone products, including marble, limestone, and onyx, require sealing to maintain their appearance and durability.
We recommend sealing the tiles after installation, once the adhesive is fully dry. This protects the marble from grout staining. After grouting, allow the grout to cure, then clean the tiles thoroughly and apply a final coat of stone sealer to protect both the tile and grout.
To keep your surfaces in top condition, reseal every 1–3 years, depending on usage and wear.
