White Emperador Marble Cobble Paving is a natural marble outdoor paving stone designed to bring warm, neutral stone character to patios, pathways, entrances and suitable driveway areas. Supplied as a 10m² pallet, each cobble measures 100 × 200 × 30mm and has a tumbled finish, giving the surface softer edges and a more established appearance than sharply cut contemporary paving.

Starel describes White Emperador as a warm, neutral marble with a character reminiscent of traditional French or English limestone. The smaller rectangular format adds visible rhythm and joint detail across the finished surface, while the substantial 30mm thickness is designed specifically for outdoor paving applications.

What does White Emperador Cobble Paving help you achieve?

The main benefit is a warm natural-stone surface with more texture and pattern than a large paving slab.

Smaller cobbles make the laying arrangement much more visible. Rather than creating one broad uninterrupted surface, the repeated 100 × 200mm pieces introduce rhythm across the patio, pathway or entrance.

White Emperador can help you:

• create a warm natural-stone patio or terrace
• define paths and circulation routes through a garden
• introduce smaller-format detail around entrances and thresholds
• create a more established, traditional paving character
• connect outdoor spaces with warmer architectural materials

Its neutral colouring makes it particularly adaptable around brickwork, rendered walls, planting, wood and other common exterior finishes.

Where does this paving work best?

Starel specifically recommends White Emperador Marble Cobble Paving for backyards, patios and driveways.

The 100 × 200mm rectangular format works particularly well where the paving pattern forms part of the overall design. A straightforward running layout can create a calm, ordered appearance, while alternative setting-out patterns can make the individual cobbles more prominent.

It is also useful for smaller exterior areas where very large paving slabs might feel out of proportion.

For driveway or other demanding applications, the substrate, drainage, bedding system and complete installation build-up should always be assessed by an experienced installer according to the specific project.

Why choose White Emperador specifically?

The main distinction is its warmer stone character.

Cooler grey paving can create a more contemporary effect, while White Emperador moves towards warm white, ivory and beige tones. That makes it particularly suitable where the architecture or landscaping already includes softer neutral materials.

The tumbled finish reinforces this character by softening the freshly cut appearance of the cobbles. Rather than looking highly precise or manufactured, the paving has a more relaxed surface that suits established gardens, period properties and projects where a less formal stone finish is preferred.

Natural marble also varies in colour, markings and movement. Those differences are an important part of the finished character and should be distributed across the installation rather than treated as defects.

Which Starel Stones products complement it?

One of the advantages of White Emperador is the breadth of Starel’s wider collection.

For interiors adjoining the paved area, the White Emperador Marble Tile Collection provides honed marble in several formats, including 150 × 75mm, 305 × 75mm, 305 × 305mm, 610 × 305mm and 610 × 405mm. This creates an opportunity to maintain a related material language from an outdoor terrace or entrance into the interior, while adapting the finish and thickness to each application.

For more decorative interior areas, Starel offers White Emperador Leaf, Flower, Square, Herringbone and other marble mosaics. These can introduce smaller-scale detail in bathrooms, kitchens or feature areas without changing the underlying stone family.

White Emperador Marble Pencil Liner Trim and Dado Moulding can also help continue the material through wall transitions and finishing details indoors.

For larger bespoke surfaces, Starel also carries White Emperador marble slabs, suitable for fabricated applications including vanity tops, splashbacks and kitchen worktops.

These products coordinate through the same broader marble family, but exact colour and veining should not be expected to match perfectly.

Installation and natural-stone care

The paving should be dry laid where practical so natural variation can be distributed across the finished area. The installer should confirm the appropriate base, drainage, joints, fixing system and sealing requirements for the project.

As natural marble, White Emperador should be maintained with stone-safe products rather than acidic or aggressive cleaners.

White Emperador Marble Cobble Paving is ultimately suited to customers who want outdoor stone with warmth, smaller-format detail and a softer established character: substantial tumbled marble cobbles that can form patios, paths and entrance areas while connecting naturally with Starel’s wider White Emperador collection.

Yes! All our marble tiles and mosaics are suitable with underfloor heating.

All marble products are suitable for bathroom and shower use. Please seal the product upon installation.

Yes, we highly recommend dry laying your marble tiles before fixing them in place. Marble is a natural stone, and each tile is unique in its veining, tone, and pattern. Unlike man-made tiles, marble pieces are not identical, which is part of their beauty.

Dry laying means arranging all the tiles on the floor before applying adhesive, so you can:

  • Visualise the overall layout
  • Balance colour and pattern variations
  • Ensure the best placement of each tile

Skipping this step can lead to an uneven appearance, as tiles placed at random may clash in tone or pattern. Taking the time to dry lay ensures a more harmonious and professional finish.

Yes. All natural stone products, including marble, limestone, and onyx, require sealing to maintain their appearance and durability.

We recommend sealing the tiles after installation, once the adhesive is fully dry. This protects the marble from grout staining. After grouting, allow the grout to cure, then clean the tiles thoroughly and apply a final coat of stone sealer to protect both the tile and grout.

To keep your surfaces in top condition, reseal every 1–3 years, depending on usage and wear.

We recommend using the grout we supply. These Mapei products are specifically formulated for marble and high-end materials, ensuring the best finish and long-term performance.
We recommend using the adhesive listed below, which we supply. It is specifically suitable for marble, compatible with underfloor heating, and features a rapid setting time, essential, as the adhesive must be fully dry before sealing or grouting.
We recommend using a wet saw with a premium diamond blade.
We strongly advise that you do not book a tiler, plumber or tradespeople before your order arrives and we recommend you receive and check items from us before making any arrangements.
