Silver Marble Outdoor Paving Cobble is a compact natural marble paving stone designed to bring smaller-format detail and a regular geometric rhythm to exterior floors. Each cobble measures 100 × 100 × 30mm and has a tumbled finish, creating a softer-edged appearance than sharply cut contemporary paving.

The square format is the defining feature. Rather than creating the stronger directional line associated with rectangular paving, these smaller square cobbles form a balanced repeated pattern that can work across entire paved areas or as a more detailed element within a larger outdoor scheme.

What does Silver Marble Outdoor Paving Cobble help you achieve?

The main benefit is controlled natural-stone detail at a compact scale.

Smaller paving units introduce more joints and repetition across the finished surface, making the layout itself an important part of the design. This can help an entrance, pathway or defined garden zone feel more deliberate without moving away from the variation and material character of real marble.

Silver Marble Outdoor Paving Cobble can help you:

• create a structured square-cobble surface
• add smaller-scale detail to patios and pathways
• define borders, thresholds and changes between outdoor zones
• introduce a more established character through a tumbled finish
• combine multiple paving formats within one broader stone palette

The square proportion is particularly useful where the paving needs to feel balanced rather than strongly directional.

Where does this marble cobble work best?

Starel includes Silver Marble Outdoor Paving Cobble within its Natural Stone Paving collection, which is designed around 30mm-thick marble cobbles for exterior applications such as patios and driveways.

The 100 × 100mm format is particularly effective in entrance areas, garden pathways and smaller paved zones where larger slabs might feel out of proportion. It can also be used around the edge of a terrace or between two different paving formats to create a deliberate transition.

Across a larger area, the repeated squares create a tighter visual texture. Used selectively, they can act as a border or framing element around longer rectangular paving.

The complete substrate, drainage, bedding system and joint specification should be confirmed by an experienced installer for the intended outdoor application.

Why choose this exact Silver Marble cobble?

Its main distinction is the combination of square geometry, 30mm thickness and a tumbled surface.

Starel offers several Silver Marble outdoor formats, but they create different visual effects. The related Silver Marble Outdoor Paving uses a 100 × 200mm tumbled rectangle, creating a more directional paving pattern.

The Silver Brushed Marble Outdoor Cobble Paving is longer again at 105 × 305 × 30mm and uses a brushed and sandblasted finish, giving it a more linear architectural appearance.

The 100mm square therefore works particularly well when you want more joints, tighter pattern and less emphasis on one direction.

Natural marble also varies from piece to piece. Tone, markings and movement should be expected to differ, so the finished area will have genuine material variation rather than the uniform repetition of a manufactured paving product.

Which Starel Stones products complement it?

The most natural companion is Silver Marble Outdoor Paving. Its 100 × 200mm rectangular format can be combined with the square cobble to create deliberate changes in geometry while keeping a related tumbled Silver Marble character.

For a stronger change of scale and surface texture, consider Silver Brushed Marble Outdoor Cobble Paving. Its longer 105 × 305mm profile and brushed, sandblasted finish could be used for a main pathway or larger zone, with the square cobble defining borders or thresholds.

Where the landscape calls for cooler contrast, Bluestone Marble Square Outdoor Paving provides another 100 × 100mm tumbled format but in blue-to-grey stone tones.

These products should be considered complementary rather than exact matches, and natural-stone variation should always be reviewed across the proposed scheme.

Installation and care

Plan the complete paving pattern before installation and dry lay sufficient material to distribute natural variation across the area. Starel recommends this approach for marble because individual pieces differ in tone and pattern.

Natural marble should also be sealed, with the installer confirming the appropriate exterior system, drainage, joints and ongoing maintenance products.

Silver Marble Outdoor Paving Cobble is ultimately a strong choice where an exterior needs compact geometric detail: a 100mm square, tumbled natural-marble paving format that can define complete surfaces, borders and transitions while working naturally alongside Starel’s wider Silver Marble paving collection.

Yes! All our marble tiles and mosaics are suitable with underfloor heating.

All marble products are suitable for bathroom and shower use. Please seal the product upon installation.

Yes, we highly recommend dry laying your marble tiles before fixing them in place. Marble is a natural stone, and each tile is unique in its veining, tone, and pattern. Unlike man-made tiles, marble pieces are not identical, which is part of their beauty.

Dry laying means arranging all the tiles on the floor before applying adhesive, so you can:

  • Visualise the overall layout
  • Balance colour and pattern variations
  • Ensure the best placement of each tile

Skipping this step can lead to an uneven appearance, as tiles placed at random may clash in tone or pattern. Taking the time to dry lay ensures a more harmonious and professional finish.

Yes. All natural stone products, including marble, limestone, and onyx, require sealing to maintain their appearance and durability.

We recommend sealing the tiles after installation, once the adhesive is fully dry. This protects the marble from grout staining. After grouting, allow the grout to cure, then clean the tiles thoroughly and apply a final coat of stone sealer to protect both the tile and grout.

To keep your surfaces in top condition, reseal every 1–3 years, depending on usage and wear.

We recommend using the grout we supply. These Mapei products are specifically formulated for marble and high-end materials, ensuring the best finish and long-term performance.
We recommend using the adhesive listed below, which we supply. It is specifically suitable for marble, compatible with underfloor heating, and features a rapid setting time, essential, as the adhesive must be fully dry before sealing or grouting.
We recommend using a wet saw with a premium diamond blade.
We strongly advise that you do not book a tiler, plumber or tradespeople before your order arrives and we recommend you receive and check items from us before making any arrangements.
