The Rosso Levanto Marble Tile Collection is a polished natural marble range for customers who want deep colour and visible stone character to play a defining role in an interior. Its burgundy-red colouring is broken by contrasting natural veining and tonal movement, creating a surface with considerably more depth than a uniform red tile.

Available in 150 × 75mm, 305 × 75mm, 305 × 305mm and 610 × 305mm formats, all at 10mm thick, the collection can move from detailed feature tiling to broader walls and floors while maintaining the same material direction.

What can you achieve with Rosso Levanto?

The four formats allow you to decide how strongly the tile layout contributes to the finished scheme.

The 150 × 75mm and 305 × 75mm metro formats create more visible joints and a pronounced linear rhythm, making them useful for splashbacks, shower walls, niches and smaller feature areas.

The 305 × 305mm square provides a balanced geometric grid. For broader surfaces, the 610 × 305mm rectangle reduces the number of joints and gives each piece more space to display Rosso Levanto’s natural movement.

The polished finish adds greater surface reflection than a honed marble, bringing additional depth to the burgundy colouring and contrasting veining.

Where does Rosso Levanto work best?

Rosso Levanto is suitable for interior walls and floors, including bathrooms and kitchens, and is compatible with underfloor heating.

In bathrooms, it can be used across vanity backdrops, shower walls, bath surrounds and floors. It works particularly well where the marble is intended to become a focal material, whether across a complete surface or as a more controlled feature against pale sanitaryware and quieter finishes.

In kitchens, Rosso Levanto can introduce rich natural colour across splashbacks, floors or selected wall areas. Warm oak and walnut can complement its deeper colouring, while pale marble or cabinetry can create a clearer contrast.

It can also give cloakrooms, hallways and living spaces a stronger material identity without requiring every surface to use the same stone.

Why choose this exact marble tile collection?

Choose Rosso Levanto when you want a deeper and more architectural red marble rather than a softer pink or rosé palette.

Its polished finish is an important distinction. It gives the surface a more reflective character and emphasises the relationship between the dark red background and lighter natural movement.

Format flexibility is another advantage. Smaller metro tiles can create detailed feature areas, while the 610 × 305mm format gives larger surfaces a calmer layout with fewer joints.

As natural marble, Rosso Levanto varies in colour, tone and veining. Samples should be treated as guides rather than exact matches. Dry laying before fixing allows individual pieces to be arranged so the natural movement works across the complete installation.

Which Starel Stones products complement Rosso Levanto?

For decorative areas, Rosso Levanto Hexagon, Mini and Polished Diamond Mosaics allow the same stone family to move into smaller-scale pattern. They are particularly relevant for niches, splashbacks and feature sections where a change in geometry is wanted without changing the principal marble.

The Rosso Levanto Marble Pencil Liner Trim provides a slim finishing or dividing detail, while Rosso Levanto Borders offer a more pronounced decorative transition. Note that the current pencil liner is honed, so combining it with the polished field tiles creates a deliberate finish contrast.

For lighter contrast, Calacatta White marble tiles can provide visual breathing space alongside Rosso Levanto, particularly where the red marble is intended to remain the stronger feature.

For larger bespoke surfaces, Starel currently carries honed and polished Rosso Levanto marble slabs. These can extend the material into suitable vanity tops, splashbacks, fireplaces, furniture and other fabricated stone details through Starel Atelier.

Before ordering and installation

Rosso Levanto requires sealing. Use stone-compatible fixing materials and pH-neutral cleaning products, and confirm suitability for the intended application and installation system.

Order a sample as a guide and dry lay the tiles before fixing. For wet areas and floors, consider substrate preparation, fixing, sealing and final finish as part of the complete installation.

Yes! All our marble tiles and mosaics are suitable with underfloor heating.

All marble products are suitable for bathroom and shower use. Please seal the product upon installation.

Yes, we highly recommend dry laying your marble tiles before fixing them in place. Marble is a natural stone, and each tile is unique in its veining, tone, and pattern. Unlike man-made tiles, marble pieces are not identical, which is part of their beauty.

Dry laying means arranging all the tiles on the floor before applying adhesive, so you can:

  • Visualise the overall layout
  • Balance colour and pattern variations
  • Ensure the best placement of each tile

Skipping this step can lead to an uneven appearance, as tiles placed at random may clash in tone or pattern. Taking the time to dry lay ensures a more harmonious and professional finish.

Yes. All natural stone products, including marble, limestone, and onyx, require sealing to maintain their appearance and durability.

We recommend sealing the tiles after installation, once the adhesive is fully dry. This protects the marble from grout staining. After grouting, allow the grout to cure, then clean the tiles thoroughly and apply a final coat of stone sealer to protect both the tile and grout.

To keep your surfaces in top condition, reseal every 1–3 years, depending on usage and wear.

We recommend using the grout we supply. These Mapei products are specifically formulated for marble and high-end materials, ensuring the best finish and long-term performance.
We recommend using the adhesive listed below, which we supply. It is specifically suitable for marble, compatible with underfloor heating, and features a rapid setting time, essential, as the adhesive must be fully dry before sealing or grouting.
We recommend using a wet saw with a premium diamond blade.
We strongly advise that you do not book a tiler, plumber or tradespeople before your order arrives and we recommend you receive and check items from us before making any arrangements.
