The Calacatta Amazon Marble Tile Collection is a distinctive natural marble range for customers who want stronger colour and movement than a conventional white or neutral stone. Its white-to-cream background is crossed by deep green veining with warmer gold-toned highlights, giving each tile a layered, individual appearance. The collection is available in two honed 10mm formats — 150 × 75mm and 305 × 100mm — both of which create a linear tiled layout while presenting the marble at slightly different scales.

What can you achieve with Calacatta Amazon marble tiles?

Calacatta Amazon is particularly effective when the stone itself is intended to provide colour, pattern and material character within the room.

The 150 × 75mm metro format introduces a greater number of grout joints and creates a more detailed rhythm across the surface. It can work well for splashbacks, shower walls, niches and smaller feature areas where a compact tile format allows the natural veining to build into a varied overall composition.

The 305 × 100mm format creates a longer, more elongated line. With fewer joints and a larger face, individual sections of green and gold-toned movement become more visible, making it useful for broader walls or areas where a calmer linear layout is preferred.

Both formats can be laid in different arrangements to change the character of the surface, but the final layout should be planned before installation so the natural variation and direction of the stone can be considered together.

Where does Calacatta Amazon work best?

The collection is suitable for interior walls and floors, including bathrooms and kitchens, and is compatible with underfloor heating.

In bathrooms, it can create a distinctive shower wall, vanity backdrop, bath surround or tiled floor. The green veining brings natural colour into the room, while the lighter marble background prevents the surface from reading as uniformly dark.

In kitchens, Calacatta Amazon works particularly well across splashbacks and selected tiled wall areas, especially when paired with warm wood, pale cabinetry or restrained metal finishes. It can also be used on floors where a more expressive natural-stone surface is wanted.

The collection can extend into cloakrooms, hallways and living areas where marble is intended to become a visible feature rather than simply a neutral backdrop.

Why choose this exact marble tile collection?

Calacatta Amazon is a strong choice when you want the lightness of pale marble combined with a more unusual green-led colour palette. Its deep green movement and gold-toned highlights give it a distinctive identity without requiring the entire room to use strongly coloured finishes.

The honed surface keeps reflection relatively controlled and allows the veining and tonal changes within the marble to provide the visual interest.

Because this is natural stone, each tile will vary in colour, vein placement and movement. A sample provides a useful indication of the general character but cannot represent the complete variation within an order. Dry laying before fixing allows stronger and quieter pieces to be distributed across the surface in a more considered way.

Which Starel Stones products complement Calacatta Amazon?

For a more dimensional wall treatment, the Calacatta Amazon Curved Flutes Marble Tile Collection provides a natural next step. The sculpted profile introduces relief and shadow while keeping the same broader green-and-pale-marble direction.

For smaller-scale pattern, the Calacatta Amazon Marble Mix Duo Herringbone Mosaic can bring the palette into niches, splashbacks or decorative feature sections. The Calacatta & Arabescato Amazon Square Marble Mosaic offers another route where a mixed natural-stone pattern is preferred.

Where larger uninterrupted stone surfaces are required, Starel also carries Calacatta Amazon honed marble slabs. These can be individually selected and fabricated for suitable vanity tops, splashbacks, worktops, fireplaces, feature panels and bespoke stone details through Starel Atelier.

These related products should be treated as coordinated rather than guaranteed identical. Natural variation and differences between tiles, mosaics and individual slabs will affect tone, veining and overall appearance.

Before ordering and installation

Calacatta Amazon marble requires sealing. Use stone-compatible adhesive, grout and pH-neutral cleaning products, and confirm the installation requirements for the chosen format and application.

Order a sample as a guide and dry lay the tiles before fixing. For wet areas and floors, confirm the complete installation system, including substrate preparation, sealing and suitability for the intended use.

Yes! All our marble tiles and mosaics are suitable with underfloor heating.

All marble products are suitable for bathroom and shower use. Please seal the product upon installation.

Yes, we highly recommend dry laying your marble tiles before fixing them in place. Marble is a natural stone, and each tile is unique in its veining, tone, and pattern. Unlike man-made tiles, marble pieces are not identical, which is part of their beauty.

Dry laying means arranging all the tiles on the floor before applying adhesive, so you can:

  • Visualise the overall layout
  • Balance colour and pattern variations
  • Ensure the best placement of each tile

Skipping this step can lead to an uneven appearance, as tiles placed at random may clash in tone or pattern. Taking the time to dry lay ensures a more harmonious and professional finish.

Yes. All natural stone products, including marble, limestone, and onyx, require sealing to maintain their appearance and durability.

We recommend sealing the tiles after installation, once the adhesive is fully dry. This protects the marble from grout staining. After grouting, allow the grout to cure, then clean the tiles thoroughly and apply a final coat of stone sealer to protect both the tile and grout.

To keep your surfaces in top condition, reseal every 1–3 years, depending on usage and wear.

We recommend using the grout we supply. These Mapei products are specifically formulated for marble and high-end materials, ensuring the best finish and long-term performance.
We recommend using the adhesive listed below, which we supply. It is specifically suitable for marble, compatible with underfloor heating, and features a rapid setting time, essential, as the adhesive must be fully dry before sealing or grouting.
We recommend using a wet saw with a premium diamond blade.
We strongly advise that you do not book a tiler, plumber or tradespeople before your order arrives and we recommend you receive and check items from us before making any arrangements.
