Silver Marble Outdoor Paving is a tumbled natural marble cobble in a 100 × 200mm format, designed to create characterful patios, pathways, entrance areas and other exterior floors with the variation of real stone. Its smaller rectangular proportion introduces more joint detail than larger paving slabs and can be arranged in straight, metro or herringbone-style layouts to suit the architecture of the space.

Silver Marble Outdoor Paving is a tumbled natural marble cobble designed to give patios, pathways and other exterior floors the material character of real stone at a smaller architectural scale. Currently listed in a 100 × 200mm rectangular format, it creates more visible rhythm and joint detail than a large paving slab while retaining the tonal variation that makes natural marble distinct.

Starel describes its outdoor marble cobble collection as 30mm-thick paving designed for exterior use, with rectangular and square formats suitable for different setting-out patterns. The tumbled finish gives Silver Marble a softer-edged, less formal appearance that works particularly well where the outdoor space needs to feel established rather than highly polished or precise.

What does Silver Marble Outdoor Paving help you achieve?

The principal benefit is a detailed natural-stone surface with considerable layout flexibility.

Smaller rectangular cobbles create a different visual effect from large paving pieces. More joints and repeated units make the laying pattern visible, allowing the paving itself to contribute to the character of the garden or terrace.

Silver Marble can help you:

• create a natural-stone patio or terrace with smaller-format detail
• establish pathways and circulation routes through a garden
• introduce a herringbone, metro or straight paving layout
• define entrances and thresholds through a change in paving scale
• build a grey stone palette that works naturally with planting and surrounding architecture

Its relatively neutral grey colouring also means it can support other exterior materials rather than requiring the whole scheme to respond to a strong colour.

Where does this marble paving work best?

Silver Marble Outdoor Paving is intended for exterior floor applications. Starel’s wider natural-stone paving range is designed for areas such as patios and driveways, with outdoor cobbles providing a robust, smaller-format stone surface.

A patio laid completely in the 100 × 200mm format can create a detailed cobbled appearance. The same product can also work effectively on pathways, entrance areas and smaller zones where larger paving slabs may feel out of proportion.

The rectangular shape is particularly useful when the laying pattern matters. Straight layouts create a more ordered surface, while herringbone-style arrangements introduce greater movement and can make the individual cobbles more visually prominent.

The installer should confirm the base construction, drainage, joints and fixing method for the specific project and expected use.

Why choose the tumbled Silver Marble option?

The main distinction is its softer surface character.

Tumbling reduces the sharp, newly cut appearance of the stone and gives the individual cobbles a more relaxed edge and texture. This makes Silver Marble particularly suitable where the aim is to create an outdoor surface with a more established, naturally weathered feel.

The smaller 100 × 200mm proportion also differentiates it from Starel’s Silver Brushed Marble Outdoor Cobble Paving, which uses a longer 105 × 305 × 30mm format and a brushed, sandblasted surface.

Choosing between them therefore depends on the intended effect: the tumbled Silver Marble for smaller-scale pattern and softer character, or the longer brushed cobble for a more linear architectural layout.

Which Starel Stones products complement it?

The closest companion is Silver Brushed Marble Outdoor Cobble Paving. Using both can introduce deliberate changes in proportion and surface texture while remaining within a similar warm-grey stone direction. One format might define a main area while the other marks a pathway, border or transition.

For cooler contrast, Bluestone Marble Outdoor Paving or Bluestone Marble Square Outdoor Paving can introduce blue-grey tones into adjoining areas. The square Bluestone option is also useful where a smaller geometric format is wanted.

For a considerably darker contrast, Nero Marble Outdoor Paving can help define a border, separate zone or architectural threshold while keeping the overall scheme within natural marble.

These should be treated as complementary materials rather than exact matches. Natural stone varies in colour, tone and markings, so proposed combinations should ideally be viewed together.

Installation and care

Silver Marble Outdoor Paving requires sealing. Starel also recommends dry laying marble before fixing so colour and pattern variation can be distributed across the finished area rather than concentrated unintentionally.

Use installation and sealing products appropriate for natural marble and the exterior conditions of the project. Routine maintenance should use stone-safe products rather than acidic or aggressive cleaners.

Silver Marble Outdoor Paving is ultimately a strong choice where the design calls for smaller-format natural stone with a softer, established character: tumbled grey marble cobbles that can create structured paths, detailed patios and considered transitions throughout an outdoor scheme.

Yes! All our marble tiles and mosaics are suitable with underfloor heating.

All marble products are suitable for bathroom and shower use. Please seal the product upon installation.

Yes, we highly recommend dry laying your marble tiles before fixing them in place. Marble is a natural stone, and each tile is unique in its veining, tone, and pattern. Unlike man-made tiles, marble pieces are not identical, which is part of their beauty.

Dry laying means arranging all the tiles on the floor before applying adhesive, so you can:

  • Visualise the overall layout
  • Balance colour and pattern variations
  • Ensure the best placement of each tile

Skipping this step can lead to an uneven appearance, as tiles placed at random may clash in tone or pattern. Taking the time to dry lay ensures a more harmonious and professional finish.

Yes. All natural stone products, including marble, limestone, and onyx, require sealing to maintain their appearance and durability.

We recommend sealing the tiles after installation, once the adhesive is fully dry. This protects the marble from grout staining. After grouting, allow the grout to cure, then clean the tiles thoroughly and apply a final coat of stone sealer to protect both the tile and grout.

To keep your surfaces in top condition, reseal every 1–3 years, depending on usage and wear.

We recommend using the grout we supply. These Mapei products are specifically formulated for marble and high-end materials, ensuring the best finish and long-term performance.
We recommend using the adhesive listed below, which we supply. It is specifically suitable for marble, compatible with underfloor heating, and features a rapid setting time, essential, as the adhesive must be fully dry before sealing or grouting.
We recommend using a wet saw with a premium diamond blade.
We strongly advise that you do not book a tiler, plumber or tradespeople before your order arrives and we recommend you receive and check items from us before making any arrangements.
