The Arabescato Gold Extra Marble Skirting is a honed natural marble profile measuring 305 × 126 × 20mm, designed to finish the base of an interior wall and create a more resolved junction between wall and floor surfaces. It provides a stone-led alternative to painted wood skirting, helping protect the lower wall while carrying the material character of the wider marble scheme around the room.
What distinguishes the Extra version is its stronger natural patterning. The current Starel product data describes a white marble background with bold gold, brown and magenta veining, giving this skirting a more expressive appearance than a quieter neutral perimeter detail. The honed finish keeps the surface soft and low sheen, allowing the colour and movement of the marble to provide the visual interest.
It works particularly well in bathrooms, kitchens, cloakrooms, entrance areas and hallways, especially where Arabescato Gold is already being used across the floor or wall and a conventional skirting board would interrupt the stone-led design. Its 126mm height gives the profile enough presence to read as an architectural finishing element rather than a narrow trim.
For the closest coordination, pair it with the Arabescato Gold Marble Tile Collection, available in a broad selection of honed and matte square, metro and rectangular formats. The Arabescato Gold Marble Pencil Liner Trim can be used for slimmer edges, niche framing and dividing lines, while the Arabescato Gold Dado Moulding creates a more pronounced decorative border higher on the wall. For feature areas, the Arabescato Gold Marble Checkerboard Mosaic, Clover Mosaic and Madras Mosaic can introduce pattern while retaining the same collection character.
Choose this exact skirting where the project calls for the warmth of Arabescato Gold but with more pronounced gold, brown and magenta movement at the wall-to-floor junction. As this is natural marble, colour, veining, tone and pattern will vary between pieces. Dry lay the skirting with the selected tiles before fixing so that the variation can be arranged thoughtfully. Sealing should form part of the natural-stone installation, and ongoing care should use suitable pH-neutral, stone-safe products. Final cutting, positioning and installation should be confirmed for the specific project.
Yes! All our marble tiles and mosaics are suitable with underfloor heating.
Yes, we highly recommend dry laying your marble tiles before fixing them in place. Marble is a natural stone, and each tile is unique in its veining, tone, and pattern. Unlike man-made tiles, marble pieces are not identical, which is part of their beauty.
Dry laying means arranging all the tiles on the floor before applying adhesive, so you can:
Skipping this step can lead to an uneven appearance, as tiles placed at random may clash in tone or pattern. Taking the time to dry lay ensures a more harmonious and professional finish.
Yes. All natural stone products, including marble, limestone, and onyx, require sealing to maintain their appearance and durability.
We recommend sealing the tiles after installation, once the adhesive is fully dry. This protects the marble from grout staining. After grouting, allow the grout to cure, then clean the tiles thoroughly and apply a final coat of stone sealer to protect both the tile and grout.
To keep your surfaces in top condition, reseal every 1–3 years, depending on usage and wear.
