Arabescato Viola Marble Pencil Trim – Batch 3 is a 305 × 15 × 18 mm honed natural marble pencil liner, sold per piece. Designed primarily for interior wall detailing, it gives exposed tile edges, transitions and framed areas a neat, purposeful finish. Use it around bathroom niches, kitchen or vanity splashbacks, along the top of half-height tiling or between adjoining tile formats.

Its slim, rounded profile adds definition without the heavier architectural presence of a dado moulding. This makes it especially useful where a tiled area needs a resolved edge while allowing the main field tiles or mosaics to remain the focus.

WHY CHOOSE BATCH 3?

The Batch 3 selection has a pale marble background with expressive burgundy, plum and grey movement. Its honed finish keeps surface reflection subdued and allows the natural pattern of the marble to remain prominent.

Choose this exact trim when working with the Arabescato Viola Marble Tile – Batch 3 Collection and a batch-specific edge detail is required. The coordinating field-tile collection includes 200 × 200 and 305 × 305 mm honed square formats, suitable for structured wall and floor layouts.

COORDINATING PRODUCTS

For a connected base-of-wall detail, pair the pencil trim with Arabescato Viola Marble Skirting – Batch 3. The pencil liner can finish the upper edge or frame selected areas, while the skirting continues the same marble character around the perimeter of the room.

Arabescato Viola Marble Clover Mosaic or Arabescato Viola Marble Checkerboard Mosaic can introduce a smaller scale within a niche, splashback or feature panel. These mosaics are not identified as Batch 3 products, so compare samples with the pencil trim and field tiles before ordering rather than assuming an exact match.

Natural marble varies in colour, veining, tone and movement. These differences are part of the material’s character, and products cut from separate pieces or batches will not be identical.

ORDERING AND INSTALLATION

Each piece is 305 mm long and provides approximately 0.305 linear metres of coverage before joints, cuts and wastage are considered. Measure the complete intended run and include an appropriate allowance for corners, returns and fitting adjustments.

The pencil trim has an 18 mm profile, while the corresponding Batch 3 field tiles are listed at 10 mm thick. Its projection, adhesive build-up and junction with the adjoining tiles should therefore be agreed with the installer before ordering. Professional cutting and installation are recommended.

Marble requires sealing, with the appropriate treatment depending on the application and installation system. For routine cleaning, use pH-neutral products formulated for natural stone and avoid acidic or abrasive cleaners.

Yes! All our marble tiles and mosaics are suitable with underfloor heating.

All marble products are suitable for bathroom and shower use. Please seal the product upon installation.

Yes, we highly recommend dry laying your marble tiles before fixing them in place. Marble is a natural stone, and each tile is unique in its veining, tone, and pattern. Unlike man-made tiles, marble pieces are not identical, which is part of their beauty.

Dry laying means arranging all the tiles on the floor before applying adhesive, so you can:

  • Visualise the overall layout
  • Balance colour and pattern variations
  • Ensure the best placement of each tile

Skipping this step can lead to an uneven appearance, as tiles placed at random may clash in tone or pattern. Taking the time to dry lay ensures a more harmonious and professional finish.

Yes. All natural stone products, including marble, limestone, and onyx, require sealing to maintain their appearance and durability.

We recommend sealing the tiles after installation, once the adhesive is fully dry. This protects the marble from grout staining. After grouting, allow the grout to cure, then clean the tiles thoroughly and apply a final coat of stone sealer to protect both the tile and grout.

To keep your surfaces in top condition, reseal every 1–3 years, depending on usage and wear.

We recommend using the grout we supply. These Mapei products are specifically formulated for marble and high-end materials, ensuring the best finish and long-term performance.
We recommend using the adhesive listed below, which we supply. It is specifically suitable for marble, compatible with underfloor heating, and features a rapid setting time, essential, as the adhesive must be fully dry before sealing or grouting.
We recommend using a wet saw with a premium diamond blade.
We strongly advise that you do not book a tiler, plumber or tradespeople before your order arrives and we recommend you receive and check items from us before making any arrangements.
