The Arabescato Viola Marble Skirting – Batch 3 is a honed natural marble skirting designed to complete the junction between a tiled wall and floor. At 305 × 126 × 20mm, its deeper skirting format provides a more substantial architectural finish than a narrow pencil trim, helping to protect the lower section of the wall while continuing the material character of the wider scheme. Its light ground is crossed by expressive burgundy, grey and darker veining, giving this particular batch a strong, graphic appearance.

It works particularly well in bathrooms, kitchens, entrance areas, hallways and other interior spaces where a marble skirting can replace painted wood or an unrelated finishing material. Choose it where the aim is to create a more resolved transition between adjoining surfaces and carry Arabescato Viola around the room as a deliberate design detail.

For the closest material relationship, pair this skirting with the Arabescato Viola Marble Tile – Batch 3 Collection, available in honed formats including 200 × 200mm and 305 × 305mm. Using products from the same named batch helps create a more connected palette, although the tiles should still be reviewed together before installation because natural marble varies in colour, pattern and veining.

The Arabescato Viola Marble Pencil Trim – Batch 3 can be used alongside it where the design also requires a slimmer edge, border or dividing detail. Starel’s Arabescato Viola mosaics—including checkerboard, clover, Savoy frame and Madras formats—may also complement the skirting in feature sections or decorative layouts; however, these are not identified as Batch 3 products, so their colour and movement should be checked against the selected skirting before ordering.

As natural marble is porous, sealing is required. Dry laying the stone before fixing is also recommended so that variations can be distributed thoughtfully across the finished installation. Use suitable stone-safe products and confirm the complete fixing, sealing and maintenance system with the installer.

Yes! All our marble tiles and mosaics are suitable with underfloor heating.

All marble products are suitable for bathroom and shower use. Please seal the product upon installation.

Yes, we highly recommend dry laying your marble tiles before fixing them in place. Marble is a natural stone, and each tile is unique in its veining, tone, and pattern. Unlike man-made tiles, marble pieces are not identical, which is part of their beauty.

Dry laying means arranging all the tiles on the floor before applying adhesive, so you can:

  • Visualise the overall layout
  • Balance colour and pattern variations
  • Ensure the best placement of each tile

Skipping this step can lead to an uneven appearance, as tiles placed at random may clash in tone or pattern. Taking the time to dry lay ensures a more harmonious and professional finish.

Yes. All natural stone products, including marble, limestone, and onyx, require sealing to maintain their appearance and durability.

We recommend sealing the tiles after installation, once the adhesive is fully dry. This protects the marble from grout staining. After grouting, allow the grout to cure, then clean the tiles thoroughly and apply a final coat of stone sealer to protect both the tile and grout.

To keep your surfaces in top condition, reseal every 1–3 years, depending on usage and wear.

We recommend using the grout we supply. These Mapei products are specifically formulated for marble and high-end materials, ensuring the best finish and long-term performance.
We recommend using the adhesive listed below, which we supply. It is specifically suitable for marble, compatible with underfloor heating, and features a rapid setting time, essential, as the adhesive must be fully dry before sealing or grouting.
We recommend using a wet saw with a premium diamond blade.
We strongly advise that you do not book a tiler, plumber or tradespeople before your order arrives and we recommend you receive and check items from us before making any arrangements.
