Silver Brushed Marble Outdoor Cobble Paving is a natural grey marble paving stone designed to introduce smaller-format texture and natural material character into patios, pathways, driveways and other outdoor surfaces. Measuring 105 × 305 × 30mm, each cobble has a brushed and sandblasted finish that gives the surface a more textural outdoor character than a polished or conventional interior marble tile.
The elongated rectangular format also gives the product greater design flexibility than a large paving slab. It can be used to create a continuous cobbled surface, define routes through a garden or introduce a different scale alongside larger-format paving.
What does Silver Brushed Marble Cobble Paving help you achieve?
The main benefit is the ability to create a more detailed, stone-led outdoor surface without moving away from natural marble.
Large paving pieces can produce broad, uninterrupted areas. Cobble paving introduces more joints, rhythm and repetition, which can give pathways, terraces and entrance areas greater definition.
Silver Brushed Marble Cobble Paving can help you:
• create a characterful natural-stone patio or terrace
• define garden paths and circulation routes
• introduce smaller-format detail within a wider paving scheme
• create a more structured surface across driveway areas
• combine different paving scales while retaining a natural-stone palette
Its warm grey colouring is particularly useful because it can sit comfortably beside planting, brick, rendered walls, wood and other common exterior materials without relying on a strong decorative colour.
Where does this outdoor marble paving work best?
Starel positions Silver Brushed Marble Outdoor Cobble Paving for outdoor floor applications including back gardens, patios and driveways. The 30mm thickness is specifically associated with Starel’s outdoor cobble paving range.
The 105 × 305mm rectangular proportion works particularly well where the paving layout itself forms part of the design. A consistent linear arrangement can create a more ordered appearance, while alternative setting-out patterns can introduce greater movement.
It can also be useful around the edges of larger paved areas, where the smaller pieces provide a change of scale or help visually define a threshold between different outdoor zones.
The exact laying pattern, base construction, drainage and installation method should be established by an experienced installer according to the project and expected use.
Why choose this exact Silver Marble cobble?
The combination of format, finish and colour distinguishes it from Starel’s larger outdoor paving options.
The brushed and sandblasted surface gives the marble a more textural, outdoor-focused appearance, while the elongated cobble format creates more visible pattern and joint lines across the finished area.
The warm grey colouring also gives the product a limestone-like architectural character while retaining the variation of natural marble. Starel specifically describes the stone as reminiscent of traditional French or English limestone in its overall appearance.
Natural variation is important. Individual pieces will differ in tone, markings and movement, so the finished area should not be expected to look completely uniform. Dry laying before installation can help distribute these differences more evenly across the surface.
Which Starel Stones products complement it?
The most natural companion is Silver Marble Outdoor Paving. Using larger Silver Marble pieces alongside the cobbles can create a coordinated scheme with deliberate changes of scale—for example, larger paving across a main terrace with cobbles used for pathways, borders or transition zones. Starel currently offers Silver Marble outdoor paving alongside the brushed cobble product within its natural-stone paving collection.
For a cooler contrast, Bluestone Marble Outdoor Paving can be considered. Its blue-to-grey character can help define a separate area while remaining within a natural marble palette. Starel also offers square Bluestone outdoor paving for smaller-format detailing.
Nero Marble Outdoor Paving provides a darker option where stronger contrast is required, while White Emperador Marble Cobble Paving can be explored where a lighter stone direction better suits the landscape and architecture.
These are complementary materials rather than exact matches, and the actual stones should be reviewed together before final specification.
Installation and natural-stone care
Silver Brushed Marble Outdoor Cobble Paving requires sealing. Starel recommends dry laying natural marble before fixing so that colour and pattern variation can be balanced across the finished area.
The installer should confirm the correct base, drainage, fixing products, joints and sealing system for the specific outdoor application. Natural stone should also be maintained with suitable stone-safe products rather than acidic or aggressive cleaners.
Silver Brushed Marble Outdoor Cobble Paving is ultimately a strong choice where the project needs a warm grey natural-stone surface with more texture and layout detail than a large paving slab: substantial 30mm marble cobbles designed to give patios, pathways and driveway areas a more considered architectural finish.”
Yes! All our marble tiles and mosaics are suitable with underfloor heating.
Yes, we highly recommend dry laying your marble tiles before fixing them in place. Marble is a natural stone, and each tile is unique in its veining, tone, and pattern. Unlike man-made tiles, marble pieces are not identical, which is part of their beauty.
Dry laying means arranging all the tiles on the floor before applying adhesive, so you can:
Skipping this step can lead to an uneven appearance, as tiles placed at random may clash in tone or pattern. Taking the time to dry lay ensures a more harmonious and professional finish.
Yes. All natural stone products, including marble, limestone, and onyx, require sealing to maintain their appearance and durability.
We recommend sealing the tiles after installation, once the adhesive is fully dry. This protects the marble from grout staining. After grouting, allow the grout to cure, then clean the tiles thoroughly and apply a final coat of stone sealer to protect both the tile and grout.
To keep your surfaces in top condition, reseal every 1–3 years, depending on usage and wear.
