The Calacatta White Bevelled Marble Tile Collection is a small-format natural marble tile designed for customers who want more definition and surface detail than a conventional flat field tile. Each piece measures 150 × 75 × 10mm and has a honed finish, combining the light character of Calacatta White marble with a bevelled edge that gives every tile a more pronounced outline.
Rather than relying only on colour and veining, the bevel adds another layer of visual interest by creating subtle changes in light and shadow around each piece. The result is a more structured tiled surface while retaining the variation and individual character of natural marble.
What can you achieve with bevelled Calacatta White tiles?
The 150 × 75mm format creates a compact, rhythmic layout with a greater number of grout lines than larger tiles. The bevelled edges reinforce that pattern by visually separating each individual piece, making the overall installation feel more detailed and dimensional.
This makes the collection particularly useful where you want a classic small-format marble layout but with more surface definition than a standard flat metro tile.
The honed finish keeps reflection comparatively restrained, so the bevel, natural veining and tonal movement remain the main sources of visual interest. Depending on the layout, the tiles can create a simple horizontal grid, vertical arrangement or other considered pattern, although the final installation should always be planned around the surface dimensions and required cuts.
Where does Calacatta White Bevelled work best?
The collection is suitable for interior walls and floors, including bathrooms and kitchens, and is compatible with underfloor heating.
In bathrooms, it works particularly well across vanity backdrops, shower walls, bath surrounds, niches and smaller feature sections where the bevel can be appreciated at close range. The pale marble palette also coordinates naturally with white sanitaryware, warm oak or walnut vanity units and a wide range of metal finishes.
In kitchens, the small format makes it especially suitable for splashbacks and tiled wall areas, where the bevel can introduce more depth without requiring a strongly patterned stone.
It can also be used on floors where the exact application and installation system are suitable, although the more detailed joint pattern gives it a very different appearance from larger Calacatta formats.
Why choose this exact marble tile?
The key reason to choose the Calacatta White Bevelled Tile is the combination of material and edge detail.
A standard flat Calacatta tile creates interest primarily through its veining. Here, the bevel gives every 150 × 75mm tile a defined perimeter, so the layout itself becomes a stronger part of the design.
The compact format is particularly effective for customers who prefer a more detailed, traditional or decorative tile scale rather than a large uninterrupted marble surface.
Because this is natural marble, each tile will vary in tone, veining and pattern. Samples are useful for understanding the general character of the stone but cannot represent every tile within an order. Dry laying before fixing allows the variation to be reviewed and distributed across the finished surface in a more considered way.
Which Starel Stones products complement Calacatta White Bevelled?
The Calacatta White Marble Tile Collection is the most natural companion for larger adjoining surfaces. Its broader square and rectangular formats can provide quieter walls or floors while allowing the bevelled 150 × 75mm tile to remain the more detailed feature.
For smaller patterned sections, the Calacatta White Marble Herringbone Mosaic or Calacatta White Square Mosaic can introduce another scale of pattern within shower niches, splashbacks or feature areas.
The Calacatta White Pencil Liner can provide a slim finishing edge or dividing line, while Calacatta White Marble Honed Skirting can create a coordinated wall-to-floor detail.
These products should be treated as coordinated natural stone rather than guaranteed exact matches, as tone and veining will vary.
Before ordering and installation
Calacatta White marble requires sealing. Use stone-compatible adhesive, grout and pH-neutral cleaning products, and confirm the installation requirements for the intended surface.
Order a sample as a guide and dry lay the tiles before fixing. Because the bevel makes each tile edge more visible, grout choice, joint consistency, cuts and terminations should be planned carefully so the finished surface remains clean and balanced.
Yes! All our marble tiles and mosaics are suitable with underfloor heating.
Yes, we highly recommend dry laying your marble tiles before fixing them in place. Marble is a natural stone, and each tile is unique in its veining, tone, and pattern. Unlike man-made tiles, marble pieces are not identical, which is part of their beauty.
Dry laying means arranging all the tiles on the floor before applying adhesive, so you can:
Skipping this step can lead to an uneven appearance, as tiles placed at random may clash in tone or pattern. Taking the time to dry lay ensures a more harmonious and professional finish.
Yes. All natural stone products, including marble, limestone, and onyx, require sealing to maintain their appearance and durability.
We recommend sealing the tiles after installation, once the adhesive is fully dry. This protects the marble from grout staining. After grouting, allow the grout to cure, then clean the tiles thoroughly and apply a final coat of stone sealer to protect both the tile and grout.
To keep your surfaces in top condition, reseal every 1–3 years, depending on usage and wear.
