The Calacatta Lilac Marble Tile Collection is a honed natural marble range for creating expressive walls and floors with a pale background and distinctive lilac, plum and charcoal-toned natural veining. Available in 305 × 75mm metro, 610 × 305mm rectangular and 610 × 610mm square formats, it lets you move from detailed linear layouts to broader surfaces with fewer joints while keeping one connected stone direction. Pair with Calacatta Lilac Square, Hexagon, Clover or Herringbone mosaics for smaller-scale detail, or extend the material into bespoke vanity tops, splashbacks and furniture with individually selected Calacatta Lilac marble slabs. Suitable for underfloor heating; sealing is required.

The Calacatta Lilac Marble Tile Collection is a honed natural marble range for customers who want a pale stone surface with stronger colour and movement than a conventional white or grey marble. Its light background is crossed by distinctive lilac, plum and charcoal-toned natural veining, giving the finished installation a more expressive character while retaining the depth and individuality of real stone.

The collection is available in three 10mm formats — 305 × 75mm, 610 × 305mm and 610 × 610mm — allowing the same marble to move from detailed feature areas to broader walls and floors.

What can you achieve with Calacatta Lilac marble tiles?

The three formats give you control over how strongly the tile layout contributes to the finished room.

The 305 × 75mm metro format creates more grout joints and a pronounced linear rhythm, making it particularly useful for splashbacks, shower walls, niches and smaller feature sections where the individual tile proportions should remain visible.

The 610 × 305mm rectangle reduces the number of joints and allows more of the natural veining to read across each piece. For larger areas, the 610 × 610mm square creates an even calmer surface with broader sections of marble and a more architectural scale.

Using different formats across adjoining areas can also help distinguish zones while keeping the overall stone palette consistent.

Where does Calacatta Lilac work best?

The collection is suitable for interior walls and floors, including bathrooms and kitchens, and is compatible with underfloor heating.

In bathrooms, Calacatta Lilac can be used across floors, shower walls, bath surrounds and vanity backdrops. Its pale base works naturally with white sanitaryware, while the lilac and plum movement introduces enough colour for the marble to become a visible part of the scheme.

Warm oak or walnut vanity units can soften the stronger veining, while darker metal finishes can give the marble greater definition.

In kitchens, Calacatta Lilac can introduce natural stone across splashbacks, walls or floors and can connect effectively with pale cabinetry, warm wood or quieter stone worktops.

Why choose this exact marble tile collection?

Calacatta Lilac is particularly suited to projects that want white marble character without a purely neutral colour direction.

Its lilac, plum and charcoal movement gives the stone a distinctive identity, while the honed finish keeps reflection comparatively controlled and allows the veining to provide the visual interest.

The three formats also offer practical flexibility. The metro tile creates a more detailed surface, while the larger rectangular and square options provide calmer layouts with fewer joints.

Because Calacatta Lilac is natural marble, no two tiles will be identical. Tone, veining and pattern will vary throughout an order. Samples are useful for understanding the general character but cannot represent every piece. Dry laying before fixing allows stronger and quieter tiles to be distributed across the finished surface in a considered way.

Which Starel Stones products complement Calacatta Lilac?

For smaller-scale pattern, the Calacatta Lilac Square Mosaic, Hexagon Mosaic, Clover Mosaic and Long Herringbone Mosaic provide several ways to continue the same broader colour direction within niches, splashbacks, shower areas and feature sections.

For a stronger tonal contrast, the Calacatta Lilac and Bluestone Marble Window Mosaic combines soft lilac marble with cooler blue-grey Bluestone, creating a useful bridge between pale and deeper stone surfaces.

Where larger uninterrupted surfaces are required, Starel also carries Calacatta Lilac marble slabs. These can be individually selected for suitable vanity tops, splashbacks, fireplaces, furniture, worktops and other bespoke stone details through Starel Atelier.

Using slabs alongside tiles also allows the customer to carry the same broader marble character through both tiled and fabricated surfaces.

These products should be treated as coordinated natural stone rather than guaranteed identical matches, particularly where different batches, formats or finishes are involved.

Before ordering and installation

Calacatta Lilac marble requires sealing. Use stone-compatible adhesive, grout and pH-neutral cleaning products, and confirm installation requirements for the selected format and application.

Order a sample as a guide and dry lay the tiles before fixing. For floors and wet areas, consider the complete installation system, including substrate preparation, fixing, sealing and the intended use of the finished surface.

Yes! All our marble tiles and mosaics are suitable with underfloor heating.

All marble products are suitable for bathroom and shower use. Please seal the product upon installation.

Yes, we highly recommend dry laying your marble tiles before fixing them in place. Marble is a natural stone, and each tile is unique in its veining, tone, and pattern. Unlike man-made tiles, marble pieces are not identical, which is part of their beauty.

Dry laying means arranging all the tiles on the floor before applying adhesive, so you can:

  • Visualise the overall layout
  • Balance colour and pattern variations
  • Ensure the best placement of each tile

Skipping this step can lead to an uneven appearance, as tiles placed at random may clash in tone or pattern. Taking the time to dry lay ensures a more harmonious and professional finish.

Yes. All natural stone products, including marble, limestone, and onyx, require sealing to maintain their appearance and durability.

We recommend sealing the tiles after installation, once the adhesive is fully dry. This protects the marble from grout staining. After grouting, allow the grout to cure, then clean the tiles thoroughly and apply a final coat of stone sealer to protect both the tile and grout.

To keep your surfaces in top condition, reseal every 1–3 years, depending on usage and wear.

We recommend using the grout we supply. These Mapei products are specifically formulated for marble and high-end materials, ensuring the best finish and long-term performance.
We recommend using the adhesive listed below, which we supply. It is specifically suitable for marble, compatible with underfloor heating, and features a rapid setting time, essential, as the adhesive must be fully dry before sealing or grouting.
We recommend using a wet saw with a premium diamond blade.
We strongly advise that you do not book a tiler, plumber or tradespeople before your order arrives and we recommend you receive and check items from us before making any arrangements.
