The Amber Grey Marble Tile Collection is a honed natural marble range for customers who want a neutral stone surface with more depth and natural variation than a uniform grey tile. Its palette moves through grey, silver-grey and white tones, giving the finished installation a layered character while remaining restrained enough to work alongside wood, pale stone and a wide range of bathroom or kitchen finishes.

The collection is available in four formats: 150 × 75 × 10mm, 305 × 75 × 10mm, 305 × 305 × 10mm and 610 × 305 × 10mm. This gives you the flexibility to move from detailed linear layouts to broader tiled surfaces while keeping the same overall material direction.

What can you achieve with Amber Grey marble tiles?

The choice of formats allows the tile layout to play either a visible or quieter role in the room.

The 150 × 75mm and 305 × 75mm metro formats create more grout joints and a stronger linear rhythm. They are particularly useful for splashbacks, shower walls, niches and smaller feature areas where the proportions of each tile should remain part of the design.

The 305 × 305mm square creates a balanced geometric grid and works well across floors or broader wall areas.

For a calmer surface, the 610 × 305mm rectangular format reduces the number of joints and gives more space for the marble’s natural grey and white variation to read across each individual piece.

Different formats can also be used across adjoining surfaces to define separate areas without changing stone family.

Where does Amber Grey work best?

The collection is suitable for interior walls and floors, including bathrooms and kitchens.

In bathrooms, Amber Grey can be used across floors, shower walls, bath surrounds and vanity backdrops. Its cooler grey palette works particularly well with white sanitaryware, warm oak or walnut vanity units and both dark and lighter metal finishes.

In kitchens, it can create a natural-stone floor, splashback or selected tiled wall area and can provide a quieter backdrop to warm wood or painted cabinetry.

Amber Grey can also work effectively in hallways, cloakrooms and living spaces where a neutral natural-stone surface is wanted without moving into a plain white or strongly patterned marble.

Why choose this exact marble tile collection?

Amber Grey is particularly useful when the project needs a flexible neutral that still shows the individuality of natural stone.

Its grey, silver-grey and white colour direction gives it greater visual depth than a flat manufactured grey surface, while the honed finish keeps reflection relatively controlled.

The four available formats are another important advantage. Metro tiles can create more detailed feature surfaces, the square format gives a balanced grid, and the larger rectangle produces a calmer layout with fewer joints.

Because Amber Grey is natural marble, colour, tone, veining and movement will vary between pieces. Samples provide a useful indication of the general character but cannot represent every tile within an order. Dry laying before fixing allows stronger and quieter pieces to be distributed across the finished surface in a considered way.

Which Starel Stones products complement Amber Grey?

Amber Grey does not currently have a confirmed same-name mosaic, trim or slab family in Starel’s product data, so complementary products should be selected deliberately rather than presented as exact matches.

For a lighter adjoining surface, the Calacatta White Marble Tile Collection can provide contrast while retaining a natural white-and-grey stone palette. Calacatta White mosaics can also introduce smaller-scale pattern within niches or splashbacks.

For a deeper tonal relationship, Pietra Grey Marble Tiles can bring greater charcoal depth to adjoining surfaces or feature areas. Bluestone Marble Tiles offer another cooler blue-grey direction where more colour is wanted.

Warm oak and walnut vanity units are also useful companions, balancing the cooler grey marble with natural wood.

Where bespoke stone surfaces are required, Starel’s slab gallery allows customers to select an individual marble slab for vanity tops, splashbacks, fireplaces or furniture through Starel Atelier rather than assuming a visual match from a tile sample.

Before ordering and installation

Natural marble requires appropriate sealing and stone-safe care. Use compatible adhesive, grout and pH-neutral cleaning products, and confirm installation requirements for the intended application.

Order a sample as a guide and dry lay the tiles before fixing. For floors and wet areas, assess the complete installation system, including substrate preparation, fixing, sealing and final finish.

Yes! All our marble tiles and mosaics are suitable with underfloor heating.

All marble products are suitable for bathroom and shower use. Please seal the product upon installation.

Yes, we highly recommend dry laying your marble tiles before fixing them in place. Marble is a natural stone, and each tile is unique in its veining, tone, and pattern. Unlike man-made tiles, marble pieces are not identical, which is part of their beauty.

Dry laying means arranging all the tiles on the floor before applying adhesive, so you can:

  • Visualise the overall layout
  • Balance colour and pattern variations
  • Ensure the best placement of each tile

Skipping this step can lead to an uneven appearance, as tiles placed at random may clash in tone or pattern. Taking the time to dry lay ensures a more harmonious and professional finish.

Yes. All natural stone products, including marble, limestone, and onyx, require sealing to maintain their appearance and durability.

We recommend sealing the tiles after installation, once the adhesive is fully dry. This protects the marble from grout staining. After grouting, allow the grout to cure, then clean the tiles thoroughly and apply a final coat of stone sealer to protect both the tile and grout.

To keep your surfaces in top condition, reseal every 1–3 years, depending on usage and wear.

We recommend using the grout we supply. These Mapei products are specifically formulated for marble and high-end materials, ensuring the best finish and long-term performance.
We recommend using the adhesive listed below, which we supply. It is specifically suitable for marble, compatible with underfloor heating, and features a rapid setting time, essential, as the adhesive must be fully dry before sealing or grouting.
We recommend using a wet saw with a premium diamond blade.
We strongly advise that you do not book a tiler, plumber or tradespeople before your order arrives and we recommend you receive and check items from us before making any arrangements.
